Street Fighter High: The Musical is the Best Videogame Movie Ever

If Street Fighter High: The Musical isn't the most epic thing you've seen all day, you can dress me up like Zac Efron and dragon-punch me in the face.

I don't even know where to begin. Laying out some kind of contextual framework for Street Fighter High: The Musical is a futile endeavor. It's a two-part, 20-minute song-and-dance epic based on the early adventures of the most famous fighters on Earth. The Youtube channel [http://www.youtube.com/user/StreetFighterHigh] says it best: "They would become the world's greatest fighting champions. But first they had to go to prom."

Street Fighter High: The Musical is actually a sequel to streetfighterhigh.com [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SweRREumJEI&feature=player_embedded]

Enjoy!

See, that's what happens when you let real fans take charge of a video game movie, no matter what direction they want to take it! It actually becomes awesome!

I haven't seen a fan-film so over-hyped since the Mega Man fan-film.

Ok the Jay and Silent Bob reference was awesome. Christ this thing is growing on me.

I would rather see Street Fighter vs High School Musical as a game... or real life... either is good

The costume designers did an amazing job here and I'm surprised that some of the actors could actually fight like the characters in the game (referring to the credits). All in all, a nice and fun fan-film.

Yeah, despite my hatred of High School Musical, that, was pretty damn sweet...

And honestly, the reference to Clerks 2 with Jay and Silent Bobs little scene... just too damn awesome...

And well... I have to agree with Dhalism, Juri would scare me... even if she was coming on to me...

I'm not even gonna dignify the five or so seconds I watched with a response.

Edit: I'm still gonna dress you up as Zac Efron, but I won't Shoryuken you in the face. Instead, let's fight like gentlemen [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k__UEBb3JSg].

Try watching this without looking away.
Without moving a single facial muscle.
Without veering your head straight to the right at any point.

Then let me know how you do. I think I need to.

I'm fairly certain this has been reported on this site before.

I'm going to go check and see if I'm right.

-EDIT- I was right! John Funk already reported on this... Well, the trailer for this anyway.

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.212300-Ryu-Takes-Up-the-Mic-in-Street-Fighter-High-School-Musical

However, having rewatched the trailer it is quite impressive just how much further they took the concept.

This article didn't mention the huge Capcom support this video has. Outside of Three Street Fighter 4 VAs being involved, E. Honda was played by their public relations assistant. The fact a fan film had such a backing from the original company is something you don't see too often.
