I finished memory block 6 and I am now in the semi-reality part back in Accre. I followed the guy to the tower but I can't get up the tower, does anybody how to get up there?

Help Appreciated.

I'm not sure why so many people have trouble with that segment. Just try jumping up to the wooden beam. Go to high profile and actually jump to it.

go around the right side and climb up that way, get to a balcony and jump on a plank and climb up.

p.s. Assassins Creed 2 is awesome

That's the problem, I can't reach the beam, even if i'm hanging on the door below the beam.

Did you try the jump-n-grab move you learned from the Thives Guild?

Just trying to help.

just press High Profile+Jump on the railing below it. No movement. Just a straight jump upwards. Not a leap or anything.

The Thieve's Guild ability doesn't come until after the part he is having trouble with.

Just go to the other side of the tower walls from where the target ran into the tower. Run up the door and jump to the side to catch the wood beam. Once you do that, climbing up the tower is simple enough. Assassin's Creed 2 has added in some more thought-provoking climbing challenges, so you don't always have a clear and simple solution. Sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith.

By that time you've not yet had the training from the Thieves' guild, so unfortunately that's irrelevant.

I remember having to jump over to the side of the tower, rather than climbing up the bit where you come to by chasing. Does that help?

I got stuck on this a little too, even though I know AC1 backwards. I got around it by perching on the middle of the balcony's rail (the balcony below the beam)so that you're in line with the end of the beam, taking all fingers off all buttons, and then holding down high profile, then holding down jump, and finally pushing the stick forward. Hopefully Altair grabs the beam and you can hoist yourself up.
Sorry, that's as detailed a description as I can give you.

Climb up onto the ledge below the beam, press right trigger and hit jump.

It's really not that hard.
