Nah, I actually like Empire and think it deserves the praise it gets (most of it at least).

Return of the Jedi on the other hand is completely inspired, and even a mediocre film as far as I am concerned. Hell, I'd even rank Revenge of the Sith above it.
The thing is I heard opposite about Return of the Jedi and how its the least of the Original Trilogy anyway.

It's definitively the one least held in regard in the original trilogy by most people, but it's it's still said to be a good film (which is what I strongly disagree with).

Lets see how many friends I have left after this one!

Game of Thrones - Its SOOO boring. It does nothing original, none of the characters are likable, the action is bloody but mediocre like a late 00s Jason movie, and the drama is so petty, so cheap, so utterly soapbox that I find I can't take anything they do seriously. To me its like Skyrim for people who don't play video games, Porn for people not old enough to know how to enter in a old enough birthday in those Are you Old Enough boxes, action for people who think the Saw series is good, and drama from people who think Shakespeare is how people actually talked back then.

Frozen - I saw Wicked already.

Fast and Furious movies - Really, didn't we say all we needed to with the first like...30? How many more times do we need bad plots, girls in miniskirts and race cars doing things race cars don't normally do?

Felicia Day - WE GET IT! You're a nerdy gamer girl, totes like for realz. It hasn't been novel or noteworthy since roughly...'94-'95. Time to move on and develop a second personality trait. That people still lick the ground at her feet because she was in Fallout that one time and likes Star Wars continues to baffle me. It almost feels like a backwards step to make such a big deal about something that's not supposed to be a big deal anymore.

Social Media - Its creepy and it needs to stop. Pick one site to belong to and that's it. You don't need 7+ social media accounts to post under, especially if you're gonna complain about a lack of privacy and hacked content getting leaked.

Celebrities in general - I get that its kinda interesting to meet someone famous, but the obsession, the paparazzi, the asking them non Celebrity related questions. I baffles me. This Meryl Streep thing going on right now is a perfect example. "Oh Meryl, you're so good at acting! What do you think of international politics and the viability of rumored international hacking of the American electoral system?!"
...like why the fuck is her or indeed any celeb's opinion valued? They have no experience in politics, finance, international business, etc...they're actors. Ask them about acting. You don't see people asking plumbers about the morality of stem cell research, or chefs what they think about budget cuts to NASA's deep space imaging projects.

Video Games - Don't get me wrong, I likes me some video games, but holy hell do some people take it too far! "Deep, immersive experiences"?! Seriously?! From sitting on the couch, using a kinda' vibrating plastic controller to move an animated person around in a fictional world that you can neither smell, nor feel nor taste and can't interact with in any advanced degree and are severely limited by both the controls, the programmed physics and the limitations of the game itself.
You know what's immersive? The Star Trek holodecks. When that is a thing and I can spend an entire night sitting next to a campfire, listening to Cass play her guitar and drink whiskey, feeling the warmth of the fire and the chill of the Mohave's night air, startle at the howl of the Night Stalkers and generally feel like I'm actually there then I will feel immersed.

Also any death threats, or taking things personally needs to stop. If a game doesn't have a trans character, they're not trying to say trans don't exist. Also if a character is gay, black, tall, short, whatever, that's not the devs saying you personally are that or you need to be that to identify with the character. If the devs want a game with two straight white male characters, that's not a hate crime. Likewise if they want a trans Afro-Asian Jew named Fresh Cut, then that's a really interesting start and I wanna' see where they go with that.
And if a game is delayed, its not because the devs are personally, personally trying to screw you over...GREG!

So, based on what others have said:

-Superheroes: Can't call them overrated, more so out of my realm of interest (bar a few exceptions) that I can't comment. But oversaturated? Yep, probably.

-Star Wars: Not so much overrated as overhyped for me. In that I can't call Star Wars overrated, but I'm not as enamored of it as many others.

I'm tempted to call The Empire Strikes Back overrated, as it's my least favorite OT film, but I dunno...thing is, there isn't that much that ESB does wrong, and I can probably find more flaws in Return of the Jedi. But for whatever reason, Empire's never really 'clicked' with me. Similarly, I can't call The Force Awakens or Rogue One overrated, because it isn't hard to find people who dislike the films, even if they're probably the minority. And after Rogue One I've become more enamored with TFA, so there is that.

-Frozen: I quite like Frozen. I think it's overhyped in some areas, but not overrated, and there's too much from the opposite end of the spectrum to make me say it's overrated, when I think many underrate it. But on a specific note:

Ahem...

It's "We Know the Way," and "How Far I'll Go." Also, Shiny. Yes, it's memorable, for all the wrong reasons. Even the worst song in Frozen (Fixer Upper) didn't temporarily derail the film as much as "Shiny" did.

Also, while I like Moana and its songs (even though for me it's Zootopia>Frozen>Moana), Frozen does have "Frozen Heart," "Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?" and "First Time in Forever," so, um, yeah. ;p

Define "wrong reaons"?
I LOVED "We Know the Way" on how they put their culture into a song (they were all bold to set sail together to search for new lands despite not having modern day navigation technolgies), perficually the lyrics (they're voyagers). I had read MANY Hawaiian praising the song aswell.

Beside Frozen has that stupid intro song that is so out of place that many people mistaken it from Lion King

Given your quote, I think you might have misread me - it's only "Shiny" that I dislike. I otherwise quite like all the songs in Moana, and I've been listening to them on YouTube on and off since I saw the film.

So, yes, everything you said about the songs, I agree with. "Shiny" however, IMO, really sticks out, in that:

-It's in a very different style from almost every other song in the film. Every song up to this point has been focused on Moana and/or her people, and generally conformed to a similar motif/style of music. An exception is "You're Welcome," but I think that's a good song in of itself, and it does perform good, quick charactierization for Maui. Shiny feels out of place though - its disco effect, the lyrics, the tone, etc. Looking at the Moana OST as a whole, Shiny feels like the odd song out.

-Even by itself, I feel the song undercuts the tension in the moment. Here we have Moana at the mercy of a giant crab creature, and has to keep him distracted long enough for Maui to get his hook. This should be a tense scene, where, even if we know it'll work out, the film should try to fool us that Moana could be killed in an instant, that Maui could fail, that their mission could fail, etc. Instead we have a disco song that plays the thing for laughs, and gives Tomatoa characterization that isn't really needed, because he'll never appear in the film beyond this point. Imagine what it would have been like if, when Moana returns Te Fiti's heart, we had something similar, instead of the "Know Who You Our" motif returning.

So, yeah. Like Moana, and I really like its songs. But narratively and musically, the "Shiny" section sticks out like a sore thumb for me.

That, I disagree with though. I don't rank "Frozen Heart" as highly as Let It Go/Snowman/First Time, but I feel it sets the mood excellently. It's a Scandanavian tune that sets the scene well, and becomes better in hindsight when its lyrics retroactively apply to Elsa through metaphor (e.g. "a frozen heart worth mining"). Never seen anyone mistake it for something from Lion King though - name one thing in Lion King that's actually frozen. 0_0

My bad (yeah I did misread). I admit Shiny is probably my least favourite of all the track. Also I liked You're Welcome due to the fact I never knew Dwayne The Rock Johnson can sing!!!

See I thought it was terrible. I don't think he can sing at all. It was just flat, and boring, and more just speaking the lines rather than singing.

Hey now, it's appropriated from "the only indigenous people of Scandinavia recognized and protected under the international conventions of indigenous peoples":

Yeah, you better overrate it!

I'll second television. Even what are considered some of the greatest series of all-time are insanely padded. It doesn't help that TV is formally so similar to film. It's hard not to compare.

I'd also say team sports. I appreciate them, but the way that they're structured, especially economically (any player can wind up on any team, staff cycles all the time) weakens the natural storytelling associated with regional grudges, etc. Dynasties still exist, but they don't seem nearly as compelling as they used to.

Dark Souls. Or as I like to call it, "Masochism Simulator". It's not hard; it's bad. The sensation I get after finally grinding my way through one of the ridiculous encounters isn't "accomplishment", so much as it's how I'd feel after finally ending a half-hour session of whacking myself in the gonads with a mallet.

God, my brother tried that once. Went out with a friend who was a 'expert' in free running, because he had been in some Youtube clip or something. The dude took him too a spot he trained at, did a jump off a ledge, rolled, and whatever. Had my brother do the same thing, but no one had checked the ground around them, brother jumped, landed, boom! Exposed metal pipe to the ankle. Hand to have an ambulance come for him, stitches, tetanus shots, the works.
All because the trainer hadn't fully checked the entire area.

Absolute mess of people, those freeclimbers.

Firefly. Not that it's BAD, but because it doesn't really live up to the massive amount of hype around it. Also Malcolm Reynolds is a douchebag. I cut him some slack at first because it seemed like his character arc might've been cut short, then Serenity came out and confirmed what a **** he was.

I think that narratively speaking, it's all over the place. Starting the movie with Jabba's Palace is rather odd, felt like something that would otherwise be the climax of a movie rather than it's opening act, and certainly not something that has anything to do with the ultimate act of the trilogy.

The Death Star plot being rehashed made for a rather boring affair.

Everything about Endor.

I do admit that Luke's time with Vader and the Emperor was nice though, it was the high point of this decidedly average movie.

I had an idiot slam into me. I saw a leaping person towards me all of a sudden while alone in my apartment's back alley and my reflexes kicked in. So I basically gave a defensive shoulder charge and ended up knocking him to the ground. He looked like he was running right at me, all of a sudden appearing from the above neighboring balcony divider thing. I was planning to kick the shit out of him on the ground only to realise I wasn't being mugged, they were just being retards.

Then they had the gall to blame it on me. Frankly, looking and acting like a crazy methhead spoiling for an easy wallet, don't blame people for thinking you're a crazy methhead looking for an easy wallet. What the hell am I supposed to think when listening to music some fuckwit suddenly *runs and leaps at you*? And worse of all, barring the physical injury suffered... the guilt of lashing out in a moment of fear.

Fuckers should have the courtesy to pull that shit in an industrial wasteland and kill themselves there. Not over people's private property and certainly not anywhere you might end up bowling over some pensioners.

The biggest detracting argument for universal healthcare is people like that. The thing that strikes me the most is the blatant disrespect and conceited disposition involved that people seem to think they have licence to do this shit where people live. Apparently explaining to your kids how mummy got 7 stitches because some fuckwit knocked her over is just something people have to live with.

Quentin Tarantino in general.

I enjoy a couple of his movies (haven't seen Jackie Brown or Hateful Eight): Django certainly while watching it and Reservoir Dogs is alright. But the rest of his filmography is just... why? Why is this touted as some high art? Take Kill Bill vol 1: insufferably indulgent in its love for trashy kung fu movies, replete with cardboard cutout characters, morals on the level of a fucking Saturday morning cartoon, overlong etc. The second part is boring as shit with characters talking, talking and then fucking talking some more.

Pulp Fiction is brilliantly structured in its storytelling, but so much of that movie is just blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah am I boring you yet? blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah too fucking bad blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah and so on. There's some funny moments and good dialogue, but so much of it is just total fluff, and cutting it out would make no difference.

Inglourious Basterds I found borderline unbearable. More bla bla bla talking, rampant tonal inconsistency (what kind of movie am I watching again? Comedy? Drama? Thriller? Tragedy? Revenge fantasy?), a bad guy so over the top omniscient he comes off as lazily written and corny, more drawn out scenes etc.

But the worst is Death Proof. Take everything I said about every movie previous, and add loathsomely unlikable characters to boot, and you have complete garbage.

Bond films. Only made slightly bearable with Daniel Craig, but I get people like routine in their entertainment, it's just not for me.

Friday 13th movies. I guess similar to bond films, people like their routines and hate lustful teens or something? They're not horror, just boring murder porn. Nightmare on elm Street afforded some semblance of creativity at least in its' idea.

Straw Wars. It was meant to say Star Wars, but auto-correct insisted on Straw Wars. Who am I to defy such wise benevolence?

Zootopia - not my thing

Frozen - not my thing, would've liked it a bit more without the villain

Game of Thrones - The show is not as good as the books and the directors aren't good enough to change it into a tv-format

Star Wars A New Hope - It just feels, so, clumsy. There are some okay parts, but the dialogue is very bland. On the technical side (sound, music, special effects etc.) it's pretty good, but definitely no masterpiece.

Raiders of the Lost Ark - I honestly don't know why, but I feel it's the least entertaining of the Indiana Jones trilogy. It's not that funny, action is okay, characters are meh, music and special effects are good but Temple of Doom and the Last Crusade are miles better that RotLA.

Marvel-movies - I've watched 6 of them, and they felt just average to me. Maybe I'm just not the target audience.

Hidden Fortress (Kurosawa) - I admit, it's been a while since I saw it, but I didn't like it at all. But I do like Rashomon. And what little I've seen of Ran.

Firefly - The show was just too short for me to get interested in it. Had it run atleast 2 or 3 seasons, maybe? Or atleast a WHOLE season.

The New Star Trek Movies - They're just poorly made movies to me. That's it. Too many plot holes, dumb characters, and the worst: they don't feel like Star Trek.
