As much as I love Cave Story, it's not bigger. It takes up a fraction of the space that Super Meat Boy doesMangue Surfer said:Lost Winds: Winter of the Melodias looks better and Cave Story is bigger.
Looks like "maybe it's possible but not worth it."
SMB isn't Trine, Wii isn't even HD and gameaudio.dat alone has 150MB (also, there's 20MB for directX purpose). If they worked in the audio, diminish the quality, nobody would notice (that much). Plus they could divide the game into three parts of $5.Balobo said:As much as I love Cave Story, it's not bigger. They are, actually. Pretty sure the largest is 256 MB. Unless they changed it again. (at first the cartridge limit was 64 MB)Stryc9 said:Siris said:No PS3? I've already got the game on the PC but I would totally be down with a DS version. You can't tell me that the DS cartridges are less than 300 MB.
It stands as well as a cardhouse built on Yugioh and Munchkin cards. They're completely different kinds of games aimed at different audiences.Aura Guardian said:Odd indeed but my original post stands.AboveUp said:That is much faster than it used to be. Given the speed downloads go on now, it's kinda odd they didn't improve the size as well.Aura Guardian said:SNIP

It's not that it can't run it, it just that the wii has a really steep limitSproingy said:As both a PC and a Mac user I'm excited by the prospect of a Mac version thus allowing me to game anywhere with any of my comps. Of course the idea of a Mac having more capability to play a game then a dedicated gaming console makes me despise the Wii even more...
I think the problem is the Wii's storage is only 512mb.AboveUp said:Wiiware's file limit is that bad? Wow, you'd think they'd have learned something valuable by how Microsoft saw an explosion of new titles the second they upped their limit (I believe the original limit there was about 100MB).
Then again, the biggest downloadable hits on the Wii are emulated games. They take up 5MB at most on a PC, and even then the download rate is ridiculously slow on the Wii. Unless they've fixed that by now, but I somehow doubt that.
Lost Winds is pretty short.Mangue Surfer said:SMB isn't Trine, Wii isn't even HD and gameaudio.dat alone has 150MB (also, there's 20MB for directX purpose). I can think of solutions without much effort. Looks like is that they could but don't want. And think about Lost Winds. It's a 3D game with fresnel and all. It's on Wiiware.
What you wanna say with big anyway? I finish the game in 7h. Lost wind 2 take me 5h. And the levels have two, three screens at maximum and are made by the same "materials" changing primary the colours and some little details like lava or salt. Play the same level for the 100 time to get a bandage make the game big in hours not in bites.Balobo said:Lost Winds is pretty short.
And they tried to compress the audio and stuff. Could only get it down to 50 MB. Haha.
Also, they do not want to go episodic.
Haha, really?Iscin said:Considering Super Meat Boy is already one big copout considering there are a dozen other flash games I can play for free which are more exciting... I really don't give a sh*t about your stupid game anyway.
Yes, actually. It's one of the most high quality games ever released, coming from somebody who absolutely loves Braid.Iscin said:Seriously... compare Super Meat Boy to other "indie" titles like Braid, is there even any comparison?
Because it's a better game...?Iscin said:And simply how did SMB get a higher rating than 'Splosion Man anyway? Jesus Christ -_-
Have you actually played the game?Iscin said:Considering Super Meat Boy is already one big copout considering there are a dozen other flash games I can play for free which are more exciting... I really don't give a sh*t about your stupid game anyway.

Yea apples are fun and easy to come by and purple monkey dishwashers are challenging and rewarding.JediMB said:The two really can't be compared. It's like apples and purple monkey dishwashers.Aura Guardian said:I'll stick with a better platformer like Super Mario Galaxy 2.
