Surprise, Kojima's Next Game Could Be MGS5

Snakes core consciousness put inside a Metal Gear soldier. It's supposed to be a mecha game right? you're a stealth robot who has several holographic projectors (including a cardboard box oh you so crazy) and is sent with no weapons (besides a melee stun weapon) into a warzone filled with giant robots shooting each other to do spy robot stuff.

You get to fight samurai and ninja robots as well and even a gunslinging, vampire slaying, solar robot (It's another Kojima game...)

I'm going with this. A lot of speculation and MGS history revolves around the 1st game in the "Outer Heaven Uprising" really, how many MGS fans can truthfully say they played and beaten Metal Gear 1? I would guess more than half the fan base.

I never beat the original, but I did beat Twin Snakes like 8 times. That count?

It will likely be MGS5: Daughter of the Patriots, take place 10-15 years after MGS4, and star Sunny who has taken up her mother's Ninja gear from MGS2. Then they can replace the traditional electrocution interrogation minigame ("Press X to not die!") with making eggs for grandpa Snake ("Press X to not burn eggs!").

Throughout the game she will also be hit on by the son of Johnny and Meryl. She will eventually give into his bumbling charms and carry his child. However their love is not to last as she finds out that he is the leader of whatever evil organization she is fighting to stop and his father, Johnny, was actually the mastermind behind all the events of MGS 1, 2, and 4. He inherited his power from his ancestors who had caused all the events that befell Big Boss in all of his games.

The game will end with a cliff hanger with Sunny delivering the baby while in enemy territory with the help of a cyborg Naomi Hunter.

However, the next game will not pick up this story thread and instead be a prequel titled MGS6: Swords of the Philosophers. It will tell the story of the secret European pre-origins of the Philosophers Legacy. It will star Johnny's distant ancestor in the middle ages, who coincidentally looks exactly like Johnny but wears an eye patch.

you know, as much as i loved mgs 1 through 4, i gotta say, my perception is that mr kojima has gotten to a point where he is just fucking with us. in terms of storytelling, i would not rely on his work that much anymore, hell, peace walker did not even have a story that was as good as the other games, and this one was supposed to be canonical?
....i mean, the gameplay is phenomenal and all but kojima should maybe take a break from mgs alltogether for a while.
oh, and on the subject: i'd LOVE to see remakes of metal gear 1 and 2 with production values of the solid-titles... of course that'd be awesome

They should transfer Snake's brain to a metal gear and set the story in the distant future in space colonies. That way, everyone gets another Metal Gear game and a mech game a la Z.O.E.

Ugh. He made a complete and utter mess of the story in MGS4 trying to wrap up 50,000 lose ends from every other game, I don't think I can take much more of this MGS wankery.

Then again, the odd-numbered entries in the series have been masterpieces, so maybe there's hope for MGS5 yet.

What if he pulls an even bigger swap-switch than in MGS2, and makes Metal Gear Solid 5, halfway through, INTO ZOE 3? Like, reveal the Snake you've been playing as and infiltrating this 'base' with is actually a clone robot thingy infiltrating a space colony. Then BAM! Mecha fights.

I can't really see where else he could go from the MGS series. Surely everything has been covered. Anyway I'd love to see remakes of Metal Gear 1 and 2, both of which I have not played, so if anybody knows where I could buy an MSX... who am I kidding, does anybody know a reliable site to download the emulations of these games?

HD releases? I'd like to see a proper updating of both installments, even if it's still an 'Arcade' game. I think we can all agree in hindsight that the MSX games weren't exactly easy on the eyes.
