Well, when you consider that only about 10 - 15% of women actually experience an orgasm during intercourse, it does kinda make sense. I mean, straight up fun does sound like more fun than getting all worked up only to reach a disappointing thud.

The catchphrase of asexuals is "Cake is better than sex."

I suppose it would work even if the cake were, in fact, a lie.

I think you have to remember that sex takes energy whereas any fatty can play a game, and lets face it, going to the gym was pretty low on that list of things they liked.

"Games" is the key word here. I think at least half of those female gamers consider more online gaming zynga titles like Farmville, and games liek slingo online gaming. I know they like to pretend but id be damned if half the ppl on any big name MMO, or som online shooter matchmaking room are actual real girls.

*Disclaimer* I love online girls this is not meant to be sexist or biased or thickheaded in anyway shape or form. I knwo a couple personally that can GO. Funny to watch them smoke my friends that don't know any better. I know that as a whole sure there are alot more female gamers out there, and numbers are on the rise. But i still think 50/50 is a little hard to swallow.

I have enough female friends to know that's a bunch of bullshit. Women enjoy sex as much, if not more than men.

Women are notorious for giving the opposite answers of what they really want so they don't appear a certain way. Just like most people are surprised to hear one of the top fantasies women have is a rape fantasy.

Bull shit... They don't know what they're talking about. I am fucking science, I should know. :p

Personally I know more chicks that prefer sex over games, so I have no idea where they got those surveys. Like wherever I don't live I guess.

I want all further scientific research done in this country to be underwritten by snack foods. "The cure for cancer, brought to you by Funyuns."

First of all, this survey doesn't mean anything. The percentage comes from women who are already playing online games. That's like going to fat camp and asking everyone there if they like to eat. The survey isn't representative of women, just female gamers.

Even if this survey was conducted properly, all it would mean is that the percentage of women who enjoy gaming at all is greater than the number of women who enjoy sex at all. There is no indication that the majority of women enjoy video games more than sex.

The title of this article seems like flamebait.
The two are not related, as they did not ask the women which they preferred more.

"those of the feminine persuasion dedicated 23.1 percent of their time to interactive gaming, while the burly male types found themselves gaming only 22.3 percent of the time."

Not going to say anything here. Though it's tempting.

I would like to run a survey of people who work for Doritos which is better, sex or chips?

I now fancy Doritos.

That is probably the most meaningful impact this "survey" will ever have.
You, my friend, probably just nailed the whole reason for the survey. It wasn't to get people thinking about sex or games, but the chips.
I want some now, too.

This headline is completely misleading. Women don't prefer games over sex, I see no one making that claim. What it does claim is that women enjoy games more often than they enjoy sex. The two aren't even being compared to each other.
But...but... it does mean that statistically gaming has a higher satisfaction rate than sex.
It does, which makes sense considering a team of game developers worked really hard to make a game that delivers a satisfying experience, on which millions of dollars hang in the balance. Sex isn't quite as likely to succeed in that regard.

Remember kids: Sex sells, but questioning the virility of your stupid male audience will have you swimming through a Scrooge McDuckian money vault by the end of the week.
I would just like to say, that I am hereby adding the word "McDuckian" to my vocabulary. Epic coinage. I'm going to petition for it to appear on the SAT's now.
What's Webster's phone number? This needs to become official, stat!

this hardly surprises me, most people are unspeakably bad in bed until they've had a single partner for several years
it's not an insult, just a fact of life

in life, always chew on a piece of humble pie before you set off on your next destination that way, you'll spend more time improving yourself rather than assuming you're awesome and wasting your time trying to impress people with cheap tricks

Alright, twisted my arm, the 14% difference can give me a call and we'll see if I can't just improve their enjoyment of sex.

It's going to be a painstaking trail-and-error process, but remember: this is for science.

Dude, what in the world are you smoking to say that SEX is not erotic. You seem to literally be saying that sex is not sexy. I'll alert the porn websites immediately and we'll get this filth off the web before more people become confused and uncomfortable with it.

Within a very specific age range, there is a minute amount of truth to what you are saying, as many teens and socially-awkward people are very uncomfortable with intimacy of any kind. Many (probably most) adults, however, grow to be quite comfortable with sex and their sexuality. If you are trying to say video games are more accessible than sex (I disagree, sex is an entry-level position requiring no special equipment or training, which any idiot can fill, and it's fun even if one is bad at it), then whatever, but I wonder why you couldn't just say that.

Also it sounds like even though the study is presented as an either/or situation (do you want sex OR games), the questions were not phrased that way. Under these circumstances the entire test is crap.
