So, I have this thing with the symbol of an ankh, the Egyptian symbol for the key of life (if my shoddy knowledge of Egyptian writing is correct). I can't really justify why, but I have wanted to have an ankh tattooed on my left wrist for the past 2 years.

I also have an attachment to the number 27, ever since it was my designated team number on the volleyball team, and the 2 of hearts card. I have one in my passport to mark the relevant page, but I first got the card by being given it by my boss after he had found it on a bar table.

Are there any symbols/numbers that you are attached to and can't really explain why?

I feel the similarity here with the ankh because I had the same thing with the cross (both similar symbols). I can't quite put my finger on it but something about the cross always looked cool and badass to me and I'm not even religious in the least. I am even more interested in the over stylized ones you can find on shirts or in shows like fullmetal alchemist.

The necron symbol

Though with the new dex I'm not sure if that's the general symbol for Necrons or the symbol of the Silent King's Dynasty.

Symbolic cogs are nice, I can't really think of why, but they are interesting.

http://vonexplaino.com/code/cog/cog.php?outer=400&inner=350&teeth=10&emptyinnard=50&cogcolourred=00&cogcolourgreen=00&cogcolourblue=00&newcogcolour=000000&spokecount=0&spokewidth=0&bcogcolourred=FF&bcogcolourgreen=FF&bcogcolourblue=FF&bnewcogcolour=FFFFFF

And I'm another fan of the Ahnk, I've got a little silver ankh around my neck I got as a throw-in offer from a jeweler in Egypt once.

Two things for me, really...

Circuitry is big on me... No, really... It's on me. There's just something about them. [http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/thumblarge_359/123324236759I62l.jpg] I plan on getting more. [https://dl.dropbox.com/u/65110350/facebook_1347999285.jpg]

Another thing is Welding masks. Not really a symbol, but if you play a lot of FPS's, it makes sense to wear one. You have no peripheral vision, Gas-masks are out of the picture, and you'll probably want something protecting your Face. I shoveled money out for a cosmetic item in a game for the first time to unlock Foundry Worker Aldridge. I am a fan of the Yin-Yang. I just like the concept and the symbol.

<img src="http://wallpaperstate.org/wp-content/gallery/wallpaper_yin_yang_11/yin-yang-moon-500x312.jpg" height="200" /img>

The idea of two opposites, each having their aspects diametrically opposed to the other, yet both being parts of a whole wherein you can't quite imagine one without the other. That doesn't stop me from picking a side and sometimes going with half of a yin-yang as a symbol I use, particularly as an emblem in Halo. I like to think it means "this is my way and I don't recognize your way." It's all very tongue-in-cheek.

A few have mentioned the Chaos gods, and I concur, though most specifically, this one;

The Mark of Tzeentch. I really love the idea of the Architect of Fate in the 40k verse, and I'm seriously considering getting a tatoo of this.

Thor's hammer.
Since I was 7 I've had a pendant of Thor's hammer hanging from my neck.

It's a font called Lovecrafts Diary. I think the symbols look rather cool.
(that's the whole alphabet there)

It's a bit simple, but Tron's Iso symbols. I find the Isos somewhat relatable, and because of that I plan to get one of these tattooed on each of my arms.

I take your pathetic 40K gods and raise you a Menite Menofix:

Also, I used to have an Ankh necklace. Always wore that thing, right up until it rusted itself to death.

I realised most people have mentioned gaming symbols, so just to mention my favourite tabletop gaming symbol is probably the Eldar saim-hann snake/infinity loop symbol, and videogame wise, the Brotherhood of steel sword and cogs logo from fallout 3. Theres just something about them I love. I can't really explain it.

Ouroboros and Celtic knot work.

A combination of the two would be awesome. But the stuff on Google Images of that aren't. D:

Oh... And any seal from the Lesser Key of Solomon.

I have been drawing this thing since i could hold a stick

I have no idea what it is, or why i consider myself to be 7
The closest thing i have ever seen to the symbol is this, which is not exactly... pleasant
