Use this threat to discuss any Tabletop games you currently play, or used to play.
This can range from simple Board Games, to Miniature War Games, or Role Playing, etc.
I recently got back into tabletop gaming when my brother, and a couple other people revisited Warhammer Quest. If you're unfamiliar with WHQ, it's essentially a more simple type of D&D adventure game. Unfortunately it is no longer made by Games Workshop, and it's rather difficult to find cheap these days, but luckily we were into it when it was still around. The game can be played with single quests or by advancing your characters, finding new treasures, and exploring more dangerous dungeons.
This is a great website if you ever get interested: http://www.wqchronicles.com/ - It's a good game if you're like me and enjoy D&D style gameplay, but are too dumb and old to start D&D.
I've also been playing Space Hulk as well (Yes another game that's no longer made).
The pattern being... I used to be very much into Warhammer back in the late 90's... mostly Warhammer 40,000. I have a decent sized Chaos army at the moment, but the rules have changed so much and I've been away from it for so long, I've had no desire to get back into it.
A few years back, some co-workers got me playing Magic: The Gathering. Unfortunately I don't see them much anymore and no one else I know plays. Plus I never really got the rules down, so I can't really teach anyone else to play. So I've been stuck now with hundreds of Magic cards that I keep in a drawer next to my condoms (No joke).
Other than that, I like to dabble in a few simple board games...
My favorites being:
- Fireball Island - The more people you have playing the game, the more fun you'll have, it can get quite hectic, and hilarious if you play with fun people.
- Omega Virus - One of the first talking, audio-driven board games from the early 90's, it's simple, fast, and fun.
