I'm sure there are a lot of people who could do this too - If you handcuffed them to their computer in a small jail cell for every year of their life since the game came out. Most of us are fortunate enough to have some other goals rather than just playing one game for so long, as well as this thing called a social life.

Then you find out he has a better job than you do, a more compatible life partner, and has successfully raised 2 children through college.

See how we both can make baseless accusations about the person? It's fun!

I had to smirk at the remark of "more casual players... after dinging 80." Just how casual can they be at that point?

I don't think there's anything ironic about that at all :)

Baseless?

He's the first to achieve ALL accomplishments in an MMO.

How could he raise 2 children and work a decent job if he made that accomplishment in WoW?

It's very simple, it's called TIME

and it's limited.

Likewise if I told you I watched the entire 4 seasons of Futurama in one week, you don't need an expert team of scientists to tell you, there was no time for me to do much else.

Quit cracking a sad because you happen to play WoW

This is seriously nauseating. Someone please do this guy a favor and unplug his computer for a bit. I like WoW, I really do. I've played it for 3 or more years, but this is just sad. And what's even more sad is that there are WoW nerds getting butthurt over whether or not he actually completed all of the achievements because of this technicality and that old achievement and blah, blah, blah.

In the meantime, as a sort of think on this point: Certain quests are faction specific, an therefore without faction and race changes it is impossible to complete every quest in the game.
I really don't need to quote a blue on that point, as it's just fact.
And yet, one can change faction and race in WoW. Although I would imagine a lot of his stats wouldn't follow with a faction change, though he could always screenshot his accomplishments to that point.
Either case, congratulations Mr. Tool from Taiwan, I am sure you have something worthwhile to tell the buddies when you get older in life. Oh wait, you probably don't have any buddies, except ingame, and I have my doubts you had much time for them even. I seriously hope you have greater and more meaningful aspirations than this, that you might be able to yet accomplish.

Even as a WoW player myself (and a self confessed Achievement Whore) I find this sad as I know the work/grind that had to go into alot of these achievements // I would love to see how long he has played, ingame, this character, easily over +1000 hours

Without checking his /played you have no idae how much time he spent on it, and without asking him, over what period of time he spent it. You're guessing. I'd wager you don't even know when achievements were brought into the game.

Considering he pays exactly the same as someone who plays 1 hour a day, three nights a week, how much money he lost is rather...questionable.

In fact, it could be said he saved money since his NT$/hour rate was far lower than other players.

As for social, you can't raid, you can't PvP without a group of closely knit friends working together towards a common goal. It's just not possible. Not to the level he took it. Sure, he might not have been outside, but to say he was at a 'social loss' is criminally misinformed. These are people who you would log in with every night and talk to and listen to, you'd know their lives, their ups and downs, ins and outs, you'd know their jobs, their ambitions, the name of their dog, that they live in Hell [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hell,_Norway]... Some of them would meet up (an incredibly common occurence) meaning it's highly likely you'd know them 'IRL' (gasp shock horror) as well.

No social life in WoW? Only if you don't look for it. Your guild mates, your raiding party and your PvP team give you plenty of social interaction if you so choose.

And you know his social life took a loss, do you? He has at least 24 friends that he trusts implicitly, or he wouldn't have done all the heroic achievements in Ulduar. You can only really raid two-three nights a week, which could just be Saturdays in which case he still has six nights to do stuff. Rep grinds take about an hour, maybe two (I'm willing to bet, at the point he's at, it's less than an hour...). Every mate he's got that's crafting or finding stuff he might be interested in cuts down the ammount of time needed exponentially. Loremaster (the one I'm having the most trouble with) can be done in a week of at least semi-serious gaming if you know where the quests are. All these take, really, is dedication.

You know nothing about his life outside of Warcraft, all any of us really know about him is that he's dedicated. You can say he has no life if you want, but don't ever talk like that's fact.
Okay you two, okay, chill. I'm just sharing my opinion, and really, in my personal experience, I've never met anyone who plays WoW and isn't socially devoid. This include my cousin a few years ago before he quit, so I'm just sharing what's happened to me.
