Conclusion: This quiz is a piece of shit.
Ok my first thoughts were a little bit harsh, but it's really not very accurate at all.
Sure I play some multiplayer, both online and with friends, but I'm ultimately more of a solo player.

"Jack of all Games"... Interesting, since I play survival-horror, adventure, and sims.

So... as a girl gamer, who do I pick when asked who I "identify" with? And the "play over and over again" games are ones I've never played.

Can I substitute the Project Zero/Fatal Frame series in for GTA?

Pony Lover? If it's cute and cuddly, I'll play it? And maybe give it a hug?
How about, I have been playing games for almost 30 years, and I see no problem with playing a game that's 'cute and cuddly', as long as it's fun and enjoyable. It seems to me that the result depended entirely on that one question of which character I most relate to. What were my choices? A list of gruff and empty, masculine archetypes, or 'Mario, et. al.'.
agreed

So despite me answering the questions regarding story with the options that make the story seem the most important part to me, I got the Explorer, which means I don't care about the story... wierd.
Same but with Pony Lover. I'm all about the narrative
I agree with you, and also got the Pony Lover... Which is odd, because I didn't choose "Mario" as the character.
It seems it is all guided by one or two questions... I choosed Mario Kart as my favorite cars game and LittleBigPlanet as a game I would play for a long time (because there was no "none of the above" option in either questions)

I got the Pretentionist and I don't particularly agree with it. However I wouldn't actually answer any differently to how I did, so I guess it's me. Woo.

I probably got it because there were questions that I didn't identify with at all, and I guess I did tend to respond in those cases with the less 'mainstream' answers. (Out of the 5 games, Flower, not that I especially wanted any of them; the kid from Braid; Plants Vs. Zombies, not that I'd played any of the games on the list, but I've liked other tower defence games).

Explorer apparently... Not really my style, but I guess it's not as far from the ballpark as the other results I've seen. As I've not really played a whole lot of the new games, I found it hard to pick between certain stuff like: "what game will you play over and over again?", where I wouldn't play them even once, except for GTA IV! Felt it was a bit too closeminded, but ohwell... Atleast I got a badge.

I got the Explorer. I don't know if I'm happy with it or not...Somme questions didn't quite have the right answer for me, so I had to choose the closest one.

The Dead-Eye & The Explorer

You want to shoot things. Zombies, Nazis, targets, aliens ... makes no difference to you, so long as you get to fire a weapon.

Describes me pretty well.

"Why bother with the main story when there's so much fun to be had in the sandbox?"

Can't say I agree with this. I value a good story, without it, lots of games have problems keeping my attention for longer periods of time. Not saying I need a story in a game, but it certainly helps.

As for exploring, I only feel it's worth my time if it allows me to find things that add to the story or game world. Morrowind and Fallout 3 were fantastic for that. I spent a large portion of my time exploring Fallout 3's gameworld looking for computers.

Heck, I'm tired of sandbox games simply because of the whole "go out, explore" theme to them. Seeing as there's generally nothing to really explore in them besides the typical sights we've seen countless of times already.

I got the Grouper. It doesn't quite seem me though, seeing as I answered a lot as the sort of "games are art!" guy.
I also don't feel I'm the Grouper since I love Single Player Games as well. However I like the picture so I'll ride with it.
Same here, same here. I mean, I'll play multiplayer with my friends and such, but I still prefer Solo over it. In fact, it seems I answered all of those kinds of questions with the solo answer except for the "What sort of challenge would you prefer?" and "What's the best way to introduce a new player to a game?"

Actually, now that I look at everyone else's, I don't think they have a solo player result. Which they should.

I believe I got this because I prefer reading classic literature to light entertainment, and because I checked the story options. I don't know what all the other profiles are you get from this quiz, but the ones in this thread don't seem half as mean or snooty as The Pretentionist. Quiz-maker, are you serious? Liking good story-telling is pretentious? So you're assuming that people say they like good stories only fake their enjoyment of stories (and art, I assume, based on the flavour text)? Everyone in the world loves a good story! Art and entertainment go hand in hand.
Yes, that's what it means to be pretentious. I notice that I also apparently like mostly indie games.

The games I play: Rock Band and Fallout 3.

Yay, pretty ponies... though honestly I don't feel that's me. I'd think with my love of Stratagy (real time or other wise), Puzzle, and Role playing, games I would be more the tactician.

So apparently I'm a hot redhead with a cowboy hat. It's not 100% untrue, I do prefer to shoot things rather then to find the stealthy way, but it's not just run-and-gun for me... I also have to explore every corner of the map (100+ hours on my 3rd playthrough of Fallout 3 (and I'm just about 3/4 of the way done)) and I have to do EVERYTHING (100% on every GTA since III, with TBOGT in progress). But yeah, if given a choise to shoot something or find a way around it, I reach for the biggest gun. Or preferably a Sniper Rifle.

The Grouper, I don't really see why since the only question i can recall that had anything to do with multiplayer was the one about Left 4 Dead.

A few things:

1. There is no shame in being a Pony Lover. No shame.

2. We'll be doing more of these and in future, you'll (probably) be able to be a blend of types. So, maybe you'll be a Dead-Eye Simulant or a Pretentionist Grouper. (Or completely different types altogether, we'll see!)

3. To the folks who seem to be taking this all a bit too seriously...it's just a quiz, gang, just for fun. We're not passing judgment on you, we're just trying to make your Monday a little more enjoyable.

Well, except for you over there. We actually are passing judgment on you. Yes, you know who you are. *stare*
