HD video, does anyone have any idea of why i can no longer view 1080 and 720 resolution on youtube without strange slow motion lag that jumps every five seconds to the normal time frame?
I used to be able to see 1080p just fine when it began to come onto youtube some years ago

I can watch big videos from my hard drive in VLC player just fine

Too many tabs? My computer is ten years old, maybe i should just give up

Anyone else seen this?

Have you been experiencing a decrease in overall internet speed lately? That would be my first thought.

Nope

Seems pretty hopeless, even with my very limited computer knowledge

Now... i think this happened after youtube stopped buffering the entire video when paused... dammit

Thanks

hm... I'd try opening it in a different browser, if you're using firefox, flash may be acting up again. Or try installing some new video codecs.

Does it stop to buffer or does the video just stutter? That'll narrow it down.
It does what i said, it plays in slow motion, while jumping to the ''real'' time index every five or so seconds

Well then it's probably not enough processing power...might have worked before, but chances are updates to the video youtube player have made it more power hungry. If it really bothers you spend $30 on a better graphics card I guess. That or watch in 720p, I usually just watch the default 360 anyway...even the 1080 on youtube looks kinda shit.
