I'm British and I have to ask: Who the hell is he?
The fact that the article told you who he is and linked his wikipedia page doesn't clue you in at all?
I was more meaning "World famious? No-one knows who the fuck he is!". Shoulda made that more clear.

Who the hell is he? Seriously.

He wears a sleeve-less jacket. And he's a dude.
I believe those are called vests.
Yeah, my bad. Still, guys shouldn't really wear them. They look.. stupid.

He sailed across the Atlantic when he was 14? I'm 16, and i didn't even fly on a plane! Talk about "living a full life".

"Michael Perham (born 16 March 1992[2] in Hertfordshire, England) is a boy from Potters Bar who, at the age of 17 years and 164 days, became the youngest person to sail around the world solo in the 50ft racing yacht totallymoney.com, completing his journey on 27 August 2009. Perham's record surpassed that of Zac Sunderland, an older 17 year old American, set only six weeks earlier."

THAT IS THE WORST LUCK EVER FOR ZAC SUNDERLAND.

Imagine spending months of your life sailing, alone, across the world, setting the record.... and then losing it to someone a few months younger than you several weeks later. Perham'd should be a new verb for people who get titles and glory stolen from them.

For comparison, what were you up to at age 14?
I was actually washing my hair, unlike his greasy mullet.
I was in school! This is just a show of bad parenting letting a young kid go off galavanting around the world like that.
I also washed my hair, sometimes.

Word. I have been Perham'd myself a couple of times, though they never got documented. The bastards.
But Zac Sunderland can now get himself Sims 3, download a Perham sim, and set him on fire. Yay for simulated revenge!

You tell me you do not know who is Marty McFly. That means you never saw Back To The Future. Oh. Em. Gee.

Marty McFly. Now go and see the movie, pronto.
Oh, I saw all Back to the Future. But I just don't recognize most of the older actors. Clint Eastwood? Sure. Steven Seagal? No problem.

But I've never been a BttF fan in the first place.

I was playing computer games and going to school when I was 14.

Not much has changed, but I have a kick-ass PC now, and I'm far less stupid.

Oh, and the 'delightful' fact that I'm a pessimistic, sarcastic misanthrope now.
Oh god, what will I become, I'm 14, and I already am a pessimistic, sarcastic misanthrope...

You probably won't change too much, at least not for the worse. Just use it like I have done and take on an "I will NOT be like those other people" attitude. I suppose in a weird way it can actually make you a better person.

Also, it's important to distinguish between 'people' and 'a person'.

Sorry if you already know all this, but I figured I should throw it out there and try and be somewhat helpful.

I was reading all that thinking he's not the youngest, but I was thinking of youngest unassisted non-stop record which he didn't do.

Wait... Did I just get quoted by you on two different topics...?

Yeah, knowing that people and a person are different will really help in life, I do quite know whichever one which is, but thank you anyways.

Yay, I won't become something worse than I am now.
