TF2 Crafting my first hat..

Ok, so i've been playing TF2 a lot since I bought it about 5 days ago. I'm just about to try and craft my first hat (still in the process of gathering materials obviously).

I'm just a little unsure of which hat to go for, the pyro's look the best IMO, and I know people will have a prejudice for their class. But i'd just like some opinions on which to go for.

I also haven't decided on which class to play, and I have full unlocks for all classes.

Go for an engineer's hat, after all, if you want to get all the new weapons, you'll be spending a bit of time on the eningeer.
That's what I think anyways.

Don't bother aiming for a hat yet, once you have all the weapons then go for hats.

Only 5 days and you can almost craft a hat already? You must have had the mother of all hauls at some point.

Go with a hat for your favourite/ most played class to get the most use out of it.

dont focus on one class choose a class your team needs. also it doesnt really matter what hat you make its going to be worn and seen all the same. heavy hats look funny

don't focus on a hat for one specific class, you'll need more metal and it will take longer. just go for any class, and you may get lucky (like i did) and get a Modest Pile of Hat (mine ), or a Towering Pillar of Hats.

It takes a long time to craft a hat. Especially a class specific one. Probably about 3 months, give or take a 2-3 weeks. Not trying to dissuade you at all, just letting you know. Also keep in mind that you're not going to want to craft every item that drops because you might actually want to use those items. So actually, let's kick that estimate up to 4 months for your first hat.

But you might get a hat in a random drop. It does happen.

To be fair i've already crafted 3xRefined metal.

Just need 1 more refined metal and class token, so definitely not going to take me 3 months.

And D4zZ I did say I have all weapons, apart from Scout, which i don't care too much for. Missing Force-A-Nature.

I crafted two hatless hats and got modest pile of hat, high five.

OT: I find it's always easyer to just craft three refined metal and hope for the best, but I like all the hats besides the hatless ones so I'm not picky.
