Worst single song- Californial Gurlz. It's just so annoying!

Worst overall "artist"*- Kesha. She is the personification of everything that is wrong with music today. She completely relies on auto-tune. Her lyrics are not only bad to say, but bad to listen to. Anything that is remotely good in her songs drowns in an unending sea of idiocy. Almost all her song lyrics involve getting wasted at some point. And people insist on playing those "songs"* over and over. The only reason I put California Gurlz over any of her songs as worst individual is because to pick one would imply I hate the others slightly less. I hate them all. I would rather listen to Justin Bieber than this "artist"*!
.../rant

* I use this term VERY lightly. In fact, I use this term in sarcasm.

Duck Sauce - Barbra Streisand

One of the catchiest, most boring, most overplayed, most annoying songs of the year. And would you believe that the full length version is 5 minutes long!
Well it's pretty crappy to listen to at home on a computer, but if you're listening to it in that context, you're doing it wrong. It's a dance song and it's designed to work on a dance floor. It also has more variety than most dance tracks. I'd rather listen to this than just about anything in Daft Punk's entire catalogue just on the strength of the added musical variety alone.

You're yet to post a song that I hate - come on, I know you can do it...
Does somebody who makes a thread pertaining to feature the Worst Songs Of 2010 and fills it with terrible "club" (I'm assuming that clubs have lost all quality control and just play whatever is popular) music sound like somebody who goes clubbing?

Sarcasm aside, I actually really like Daft Punk (their soundtrack is my number 2 reason I'm seeing Tron: Legacy. Number 1? It's MOTHERFUCKING TRON!!). I also really like dance music. My problem is that most of todays dance music seems to be an exercise of "how long can we keep this going without changing it, without trying and how loud can we make it?" I prefer dance music with heart. With emotion. That's why Delphic - Acolyte is both my Album and Song of the year.

I appear to have spent too long replying to you. I'll be accused of favouritism! As for your comment of songs that you hate: you haven't heard Brokencyde? If so, and you still aren't convinced, then provide me with your least favourite songs! Hit me with your best shots!

It's shit like this that makes everyone think rap is meaningless.

Also, that Whip My Hair bullshit brought out by Willow Smith. That was just awful.
I was just waiting for someone to pick N-Dubz. I was worried I'd have to contaminate my Viewing History with their utter pandering, meandering, Gareth-Gates-stuttering shite! You are a braver soul than me.

You are going to piss my brother off so much for saying that. For this; I thank you!

Keep those nominees coming folks! I'll have a current standings list soon!

I disagree with all of those choices, I'm not really a fan of them but they are far from terrible. Come has a single artist this year been worse than fukcing Kesha?!

I'm sorry for posting this

Worst chorus ever and the laziest synth I've ever heard, just playing one note at a time.
Dislikes: 52

Yeah, okay... that's about right.

Really, I was thinking about giving this to that Willow Smith song because it has the worst, most offensively, inexplicably bad chorus I've ever heard... but, no.

This is the worst.

Tinie Tempah - Pass OutI don't care what anyone says, I hate this man and I hate his songs. But his lyrics are genius(!) Yes, that was sarcasm. Thanks for asking!!
Overplayed: Fuck yes! Rubbish: not entirely

The vocals and lyrics are a bit hit and miss, but the tune and beat is amazing.

Plus some people have made some wicked drum and bass versions of it.

You can't say that isn't awesome.

Anyway my worst song of the year has got to be Bruno Mars just the way you are. It really grinds my gears and im sick of it.

Pixie Lott - Boys And GirlsThis woman specialises in crafting ultra shit pop music, and this American debut is her worst to date.

Sidney Samson Featuring Wizard Sleeve - Riverside (Let's Go!)Get this thing out of my head!!!

The X Factor Finalists - HeroesFor fucking with Bowie, everybody involved should be sentenced to death by electric chair. That's on fire. With angry scorpians.

I feel like this thread would be more productive if everyone here started thinking about the things that make these songs so popular and then writing one similar... Because even people like Justin Bieber get to laugh their collective asses off on the way to the bank.

Seriously though Escapist Pop Album Brainstorming should be the name of this thread.

I don't know how to post videos, The Black Eyed Peas - The Time (Dirty Bit) In close 2nd was that Willow Smith song that's all ready been posted, or any Justin Bieber song.

I really hate this BEP song, yet somehow it planted itself in my head. I was even humming along as I posted the link.
To post videos go [youtube =] (without the space) and then attach the collection of letters and numbers after the = after yours [=xHNiW08jX10] like so.

Evdidence that this works

It's weird that you point that out, because my objection to Daft Punk has always been that they are probably THE most musically repetitious dance group out of all of the ones currently active and reasonably popular. If they had released anything I was aware of in 2010 I would have definitely nominated it. I suppose I could nominate their entire back-catalogue like others have done with Brokencyde, as I think Daft Punk is definitely a cancer on music.

jackanderson said:

On the other hand Brokencyde are brilliant. Of course I've heard Brokencyde or I wouldn't have made the comment that I did in my previous post (which would make no sense if I hadn't heard them). I think "Freaxxx" is really an excellent song (note: no sarcasm), but "Booty Call" is a bit weak, it doesn't have the dynamics which made "Freaxxx" work so well. The redeemed themselves with thier new song though:

Now that's brilliant, one of the best things I've heard this year.

I honestly cannot say. I avoid the radio like the plague right now, and I have managed to avoid listening to everything in here. Minus the BrokeNCYDE. Seriously, they should be fired into the sun. But I don't even think the sun deserves that.

On a side note?

That's from Slither. Highly recommended if you like your B-grade horror films with a hefty side order of "ewwwwww".

I won't tell you what is happening because that scene is near the ending and it would be a massive spoiler.

Anything by Kesha (and no, I won't use the damn dollar sign).
Specifically:

(I wish I could use her first single, but that was 2009)

Ironically, I enjoy pop music. It's just her obsessive need to half-ass rap and auto-tune over songs with the same lyrical quality as anything spouted from a drunken buffoon outside of a nightclub (as said buffoon vomits glitter) makes me angry.
Oh god that fucking song is everywhere!I cant go out to eat without hearing that damn song!!

Is "Anime" by Soulja Boy from this year?

I would look it up on youtube but I don't want that shit in my history, it's so god awfully bad. I felt offended listening to it.

Runner up would be "Rude Boy" by Rhianna. It's so ear-rappingly horrible and annoying. It's like everything I ever hated in a song, and I hear people playing it all the time.
And for the same reason as Soulja Boy, I'm not posting it from youtube.

Whip your hair or whatever the hell it is so goddamn awful, and one of the worst parts is she just took headbanging and tried to act like she invented something new by just changing the name.

I vote Blah Blah Blah. She's not even trying to sound good. It's like she got drunk and hollered in the mic for a while, then they took a bunch of random, disjointed synth beats and put them in the background, and then auto-tuned the whole thing until it sounded like T-Pain's cat in a tumble dryer.
