god Asylum Studios needs to be burned to the grounddragongit said:Asylms whole movie carrear is based off of "Mockbusters". Movies based off of Tripple A productions just so they can get their stuff in in the aftermath and hope to soak up some of the cash by unsuspecting idiots. They have at least a dozen movies that are nothing but knock offs. Here is the list I found, from Wiki of corse, where else? They have done more ripoffs, but these just happen to be the ones that were released the same year as the major productions.
Major Release:/ Asylum release.
Freddy Vs Jason:/ Vampires Vs Zombies ( concept doesn't seem similar? look at the poster)
King Kong :/ King of the Lost World
War of the Worlds :/ H.G Well's War of the Worlds
Da Vinci Code :/ The Da Vinci Treasure
Pirates of the Caribean, Dead Man's Chest:/ Pirates of Treasure Island
Snakes on a Plane/: Snakes on a Train (Holy shit the original was astupid idea, they just multiplied its stupidity by infinity then divided by 0)
Alien Vs Preditor Requiem :/ AVH Alien Vs Hunter
Transformers :/ Transmorphers (yes, they actually knocked it off in the same month)
I am Legend :/ I am Omega
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull:/ Allan Quatermain and the Temple of Skulls ( wow, really? going as far as to come up with a new hero but keeping basically the rest the same? thats low)
High School Musical 3: Senior Year :/ Sunday School Musical
The Day the Earth Stood Still: The Day the Earth Stopped
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen :/ Transmorphers: Fall of Man
Terminator Salvation:/ The Terminators
Paranormal Activity:/ Paranormal Entity
Sherlock Holmes:/ Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes ( oh, this one might actually be different... because its has FUCKING DINOSAURS! WTF!?)
Piranha 3D:/ Mega Piranha
Battle: Los Angeles:/ Battle of Los Angeles
and up to date, this movie against the Marvel Thor. Granted they had many MANY more mockingly bad movies, but these movies just happened to be released within several months, or in some cases several DAYS after the other films release.
For whatever reason, they seem to find loopholes that allow them to continue to make these movies, and whats worse is that they always make up their budget so they never loose money, concidering they never go above a budget of 1 million.
I haven't actually seen any of these movies, but I've seen enough from some of the trailers... good lord I can't tell if they are taking these serious or just poking fun at them.
I loved this so much.Ren3004 said:So, the land of the Gods is Hogwarts?
I wish these guys would stick to original productions. Like Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus.
and hell instead of NiflheimJonluw said:I'm sort of disappointed that the summary decided to use the word 'armageddon' instead of Ragnarok...
And I, uh... what is this?
I thought it was just a sketch or a mock trailer, but apparently it isn't?
I sort of tolerated Hell, because it didn't sound too far from Hel, which after all is supposed to be located in Niflheim.ziggydk said:and hell instead of NiflheimJonluw said:I'm sort of disappointed that the summary decided to use the word 'armageddon' instead of Ragnarok...
