I sort of tolerated Hell, because it didn't sound too far from Hel, which after all is supposed to be located in Niflheim.

I don't know if the target audience of Almighty Thor are very interested. They just want some action and a familiar setting.

Edit: Also, what's the deal with Mjolnir? It looks bloody silly in that trailer.

Something as complex as a character who isn't one-dimensionally evil is too much for the target audience to handle. It gets too complicated.

I can imagine Loki somehow managing to kill Odin though, through some clever plot-device. He is a tricky one; after all he did do Baldur in.

to bad that the target audience need it to be good vs evil to Understand. because when you look at it objectively the áss/Æsir/aser or what you call them, is most of the time bigger pricks then the jötunn, see the story about how Asgard got it's wall (can't remember it's name) they had a deal an then the Æsir sabotaged the jötunn who was building it.

In defense of the Esir the builders price was Freyja, the sun and the moon. That seems a bit unreasonable.
