In the bastions ending you are given two choices: to either reverse time before the calamity happend or use the bastion to fly away with your companions, leaving your world forever.
What did you choose and why?

I personally chose to leave with my companions, none knew exactly what happens if you rebuilt the world there is no telling id the calamity would repeat itself or not and so on. History is invaluable, people learn from their own mistakes. To say the massive loss of human and animal lives were worth sounds cruel, but I think they would be better of in the long run.

I flew away. I was fully prepared to reverse time but Zia kind of broke my heart, so I decided to go ahead and fly away. The world we were leaving behind, the world that RESULTED in the Calamity, seemed like it wasn't necessarily worth revisiting. All that hatred and prejudice and war. What use is a chance to do better if no one is aware of what happened the first time? No...I decided to stick it out with my new "family". Minus my baby pecker bird, who died in the Ura attack (sniff).

I reversed time then loaded the game again to play the last level and picked fly away with friends. Was a easy way to get two achievements.

I flew away, things would be better for zia and the kid that way, I rescued zulf and all the little creatures. I don't think the world they went back to would change the calamity could still happen then or at another time but going forward seemed the better choice the kid would make.

I chose to save Zolf and fly away. I like the idea of progressing, setting off on a new adventure and leaving the past behind. Reversing time would have just lead to another calamity so it seemed pretty pointless. I did choose to set time back on my second playthrough but I didn't like it as much as the feeling of progression I got from the other ending.

Bastion really has only one ending: Leaving with your friends. The other ending resets the timeline, the Calamity happens again and the events of the game play out all over again. Over and over and over again until the kid picks the other option.

Chose to evacuate. Really seems like the only way for the characters to progress more.

But you don't know that. Thats the clever thing which made it hard, nobody knew if the calamity would happen again. They only knew it would change everything back to the way it was, everyone on board may remember it or some remnants may go through to make it different.

Personally I still chose the evacuation, and to save Zulf. My reasoning was basically that the Calamity was the fault of people. People created it and people should live with it is a big ideal of mine so I evacuated. Very very powerful ending to the game, loved it to bits.
