Hi there, Escapists. Just thought I'd try to spread a bit of positivity around here. So I would like you to share what you consider to be the best day of your life so far.

Whether it's based on how much fun you had in one night, how it affected your life for the better in the long term, or any other basis for what qualifies as the best day of your life, is up to you. It doesn't have to be limited to one day, either. Just share whatever good days you feel like!

As for myself, I would have to say my first date with my boyfriend. Well, it probably doesn't count as a date, since both of us only expected to be friends before that day, and it started with me just stopping by where he works to say hi. But nonetheless, something just kinda clicked. We both realized that the other wanted to be more than friends, and things have been going wonderfully ever since, not to mention that I was basically bursting with happiness for the rest of that day.

But enough about me, I want to hear about you! What is the best day of your life so far!

If I had to choose one at this point in time it'd probably be getting accepted to my university.

To be honest, I'm pretty shit at remembering A LOT of things good or bad, but that day still sticks out to me. Sort of.

And I've spent the last year and a half dealing with some of the worst days of my life as a result! But that's my fault.

That's easy.

The day when I first heard that little voice say "Daddy".

I cannot even describe how it has affected my life.

The day my girlfriend and I bumped into each-other at a coffee shop. If fate is a real thing that it's what guided me there that day. We both knew each other from our high-school years, though not very well. Neither of us had had much interaction and what really caused all this was me rejecting her when she had asked me out (I had self esteem problems at the time, and thought she was mocking me, others had done the same). Since it had been a few years we got to talking, caught up and then I asked if it had been a genuine offer and that I had made a mistake. As it turned out, I had: she was a closet sci-fi nerd who had thought our interests would be compatible (I was openly one of the biggest nerds in our school despite being on several sports teams. Second biggest Trekker and only Gater). We actually got a good laugh out of it all (I had always thought of her as one of the 'popular' girls, way of of my league). I managed to muster the courage to ask if the offer still stood (much more eloquently then that though) and since she was single and didn't have her eye on anyone she said yes.

Dozens of dates and her moving in later, and here we are. I can't imagine my life without her now.

I'm not sure if I have a "best" day to be honest. It's so hard to pick just one day. Ever since I met my current partner my life has been getting progressively better. One that jumps to mind is the first night of a NYE music festival we went to back in 2012. I had gone with a group of people I had only met 2/3 months prior (this included my partner although we only started dating 4 months later) and it was probably that night that I realized that these people were probably some of the greatest friends I had ever had. That entire festival was one of the best times of my life. I'm still friends with them 3 years later and I miss them so much since I've temporarily moved to Australia.

Another day is probably the time I found out that my partner actually got accepted to join the Royal Marines but he elected not to go in the end as he valued our relationship more. That made me realize just how much I truly meant to him, the fact that he gave up such a great opportunity just for me. We've now been together almost 3 years and I could not picture myself being with anyone else. Unfortunately we're going through a year of long distance because of my trip to Australia to spend time with my dad (parents split when I was 5 and I hadn't seen my dad for 4/5 years before this) but I am so so grateful that we are still making this work. Once my year in Australia is up we plan on moving to the UK together and if you ask me in about a year what the best day of my life is I will probably say the day we moved in together.

I had a bad falling out with a friend who meant a lot to me. We didn't speak for two years until one day when I got an entirely unexpected Facebook message from her which reignited the friendship. I literally leaped out of my chair in joy when I clicked on my inbox and saw that it was her. We are closer now than we ever were before.

Aw... That's genuinely sweet.

My best day was the day of a school trip where I sat awake all night, reading a paperback collection of W.I.T.C.H. comics and an entire Goosebumps book start to finish.

If I had to choose now, I'd say on my second trip to Cape Town. I'd been there the year before working with kids living in poverty and it hurt like hell to leave them. The first day I was back on that 2nd trip, they were running after the car & screaming my name as we pulled up. One girl in particular I'd gotten close to the year before didn't say a word, but when she saw me she smiled and ran into my arms.

Can I go back now?

I've had lots of days I could consider my best. I think the fact I've never been in a relationship and some of the other big moments that could come with it might be part of the problem. I guess I'll give a few brief day descriptions, and can expand if anyone is interested.

My first day diving the Great Barrier Reef. Got to see lots of fish, sharks, and during my night dive, I saw a huge turtle just swimming around.

I was staying in a Japanese families house for part of our trip (was with a group called People to People). We spent the day with the family, even though me and the other guy I was with spoke no Japanese. Best part of the day was after spending time with the 5 year old kid, who afterwards called me Oni-San. That was really special.

Me and my Mom were in Denmark and went on a random hiking trail. The views we saw turned out to be really awesome. The picnic area was really cool.

On a night Safari in South Africa, we were chilling a few feet away from a Lioness and the Male. Before we left, they began to Roar in synch. One of the coolest things I've seen.

A day I went chumming. Got to see a Great White eat a Sea Lion, Another one breach the water, and we had 18 different White Sharks, some up to 4 meters long.

While the whole trip was amazing, the day while camping out in the Bush where among many things, we got to see a Lioness stalking a herd of Zebra. They picked up her scent, so there was no chase, but it was a sight to see.

Getting hired for my current job. While it doesn't seem exciting, it lead to a number of those days I mentioned because of having a job and having a very flexible work schedule. Also has allowed me to figure out what I want to do for my Masters.

I have a number of really good days, so I can't choose any of them.

Er...uh...yeah...let's see...I...oh, man, this is hard...yeah...so I...er...uh...uhhhhhh

OK, this isn't to say that I don't have a best day, but I don't really have any moment in my life that really stands out as making a day significantly better than any other day that had a really good event. I guess once I get my degree, then I'll have a truly stand-out day. Other than that, though, it'll probably be me just remembering some really nice days, of which there are too many to count.

Four come to my mind-

1. When me and my bro went to one of the first Pokemon Champioship in the UK (it was the Trafford Centre in Manchester). I suppose this was my first group nerd encounter as I hardly see that many people interested in the same thing I like in one place.

2. When me and my brother went Christmas Shopping. I don't know why but it was generally nice to hang out with my bro at that time. These days, he's a pain in the ass during Christmas shopping especially last year.

3. When I was in University and living on my own in the Student Hall. So far (now I'm back with my parent) this is the ONLY time that I was fully indepedant and I LOVED it. I get to eat what I want, sleep when I want and etc and I was mature about it (I mean I started to eat ice cream when I wanted until I realise I learn that it was bad for me and changed abit).

4. When I attended the first anime convention with my bro. It was huge and it always something I wanted to do. Funny how many years ago I didn't think anime would had become this popular.

Today. Today's the best day of my life.

I learned that my best friend was discovered by her mom before all the sleeping pills had taken full effect.

Uhhh....

I'm having trouble remembering any that weren't somehow ruined by something (Or just trouble remembering ones at all, to be honest. My memory suuuuuucks).

I guess the day I left secondary school would be the only one I can think of that didn't have huge negative points. I was so fuckin' happy to be free of that place.

I don't think I've had "the best day ever" yet, but I can think of my 2 best moments in 2006; winning my first video game console (PS2) in a school raffle and performing on stage at Disney World. 2006 was my Year of Hell and those were my best moments in that depressing year.

Bumping this.

I've posted this before, and be forewarned that you may find something in your eye soon after watching:
I take comfort in thinking that all parents would do that for their child. I don't want a family myself, but I appreciate the folks that actually like themselves enough to want a family, and are happy to admit it.

I'm only 20 so nothing too exciting yet. I'd have to say the first time I was busking with my guitar. I made $40 in 2 hours, but that wasn't important, it was the fact that people thought I was good enough to even give me a bit of money for it.
