We lost Dark Matter for this?

And here I thought Syfy was coming back from a half decade of disaster.

You lost Dark Matter for the same reasons we lost Stargate, (and no not just because they had the same producer) neither of them were SyFy original productions which means unless the shows have constant strong viewership numbers the broadcaster has little other opportunity to make money off the show. A little wobble in viewer numbers and the show gets dropped.

A little wobble in viewer numbers and the show gets dropped.

Stargate wasn't dropped due to viewership being too low, for SG1 and SGA it was due to the episodes SyFy owned the broadcast rights to entering syndication while SGU wasn't the smash hit they where hoping it would be (though it would ironically today be considered too good not to keep with those same numbers).
