I'm taking the "drink recipe" command on the forum description to heart...

As grownups cannot really drink something that has an umbrella or any fruit puree, everyone knows that simple cocktails are the best. What's the best drink with three ingredients or less. Don't say beer or wine, and yes, garnishes count.

For my money: Gin, tonic and lime wedge.

NOOOO!!!!! HEATHEN!!!!! You don't put ice in scotch, when a liquor is cooled it locks up the flavor so that it becomes less complex. Why do you think your supposed to freeze vodka? The best tasting vodka is supposed to taste like water...

The Mojito (White Rum, lime juice, soda water, sugar and mint).
Especially sinces it's almost summer here in Australia, it makes the perfect hot day drink :D
If I can't have my cocktail, get me a nice German lager or a Wild Turkey and coke!

My goodness. Breathe deeply...in with the good...out with the bad...better? Good. Now then. I'm sorry, I didn't know any better. I shall try it sans ice. Please don't stone me!
You're right I do feel better. Maybe I should quantify that statement with another one: This is only when talking about GOOD scotch, now everyone's price-range for good scotch is different but as a rule, at least for my budget, is anything equal to or more expensive then Johnnie Walker Black Label shouldn't be iced. Room temperature water is fine in any scotch but good scotch shouldn't be iced.

Forgot to contribute my own. The gin and tonic or vodka soda. Both very simple drinks that are complex in taste and easy to drink. Get Bombay Sapphire, Beefeaters, or Tanqueray for the gin and tonic and in squeeze a bit of lemon. For the vodka soda, Absolut, Svedka, or Seagrams work great and a bit of lime finishes it off. Both go in a low ball glass with a good heap of ice; I like the 5/8 liquor 3/8 soda/tonic mix ratio.

A dirty martini is always good. Gin, Vermouth, and a little Olive Juice. You could also substitute Vodka for Gim if you don't like it.

Irish coffee...

4cl (2 parts) Irish Whiskey
8cl (4 parts) Hot coffee
3cl (1½ parts) Fresh cream
1tsp brown sugar

In my hometown there was a bar called Cafeé Dark... where you could get a .. well Cafeé Dark *g*. They had some nice Irish coffee variations.. and you got a cookie with it *g*.

Reminds me i always wanted to try a "Duncan McLeod". (It's Sake, Coca Cola and Scottish Whiskey all one part - Like a highlander, played by an american with a katana)

i forget what it's called (vodka gimlet i think): vodka, lime juice, sugar (lime syrup could replace lime juice and sugar)
