Odd, the various TV series lately have Ms. Marvel hanging out with SHIELD instead, acting as a liaison between them and the Avengers, and generally having a thing for Captain America and/or Nick Fury, essentially crossing her character with Spider-Woman and...

WAIT, WAIT! It's ok... I have bacon.
(makes about as much sense as anything else out there)

"Continanity" indeed.

Every time you do one of these "Comics are weird" episodes, it makes me damn thankful I don't read comic books. Now if you'll excuse me I've got to go collect my brains of the wall behind me.

I have been waiting for this episode!

Does anyone else love how smug Chris Claremont looked in that picture Bob used.
He's like 'I'm gonna put things right and there's nothing you can do to stop me! bwahahaha!'
And put things right he did <3

Oddly I knew all about Rogue getting her powers form Ms Marvel but I had no idea she was a villain at first. :O

I dont get what your going cross-eyed over Bob. Years of comics should have allowed you to be able to deal with this. My praise goes to Clarmont more being a good enough writer to fix all that mess.

Anyway, next time you do a Comics Are Weird segment, Deadpool. Freaking Deadpool all the way. Or a House of M/Civil War episode.

Goddamn. I've been with this show since the beginning, and this is the first time I've actually thought, "You know, comics really are WEIRD."

I second this. Marvel seems to have MINES of strange things you can use and Deadpool's made for that.

I wanna bring up that one issue where in a late 2000s retcon before she became Ms. Marvel, Carol Danvers got captured by Arab terrorists and got well, let's just say it involves her in underwear, a hammer and a chair.

To make this clusterfuckery that I'm trying to forget it happened, Scansdaily cheered her on as she survived through the torture, like she's some Badass James Bond in Casino Royale. At least, Bond got whipped, but this?

That was beyond Comics Are Weird for Ms Marvel. That was just, ugh.

I could give you guys the link, but I'm too PTSD to even to do it.

OK, maybe you're right. Maybe I wasn't going to use those braincells for anything important... but still. *boom* Mind. Blown.

Also that Spider woman picture. She was in one of the first comics I picked up as a kid. Hadn't seen or thought of her since then.

...and this is why people outside the comics fandom are so afraid to get into it. Great episode as always Bob.
And yet the vast majority of the stuff doesn't matter. Has anyone ever not gotten into, say, baseball because they don't know who Bob Feller or Eddie Mathews were? Because they heard the Atlanta Braves were once called the Boston Beaneaters?

welcome to comic books. people wonder why they aren't more popular.

I laugherd hard at that. especially remembering one of the big pictures first episodes being the devil and mister parker. oh and hten he talked about the clone saga.

BTW i would like to see an episode on these things which were mentioned in this episode. house of M, the Iron Patriot/Norman Osborn/The Osborn Family(doesn't the mother have some f-'d up stuff going with her?), Mystique, (although not directly mentioned) Magneto and his kids, The Xmen, And most of all THE STARJAMMERS!

Captcha; biquirs... DYSLEXIC BIQUIRS OF THE WORLD UNTIE!

I nearly choked on my drink watching this, twice.

I think more Austin Powers references are needed in everyday life.

But im glad that I now know more about the orgins of that epdiode thanks to this.

Ms. Marvel was one of the first major series I ever got into once I'd moved back to the states and picked up comic books again. But I wasn't expecting her solo run to end at issue 50 so I really only got like 12 issues out of it lol

I do remember the Ms. Marvel/Spiderman thing though. They shared their love of food together, and I enjoyed that.
