I was never fond of DC, and IC and all these doesn't help me get into it either...

EDIT: I love most of their costumes though, but that's hardly a selling point.

As much as I loathe the boob-candy that a lot of female superheroes seem to have, I actually liked how Powergirl didn't have a symbol like all the other superheroes.

Also, what was that cartoon clip from? It wasn't the Justice League (which gave power girl another origin story as a Supergirl Clone).

I read that the current reboot of Power Girl no longer got the boob window but to compensate, her costume get torn/ ripped apart as a running gag which some fans hated.

Looking forward to next week since I think I know which Supergirl you're going to mention next.

It's from this DC animated film "Superman/Batman: Public Enemies" based from the comic of the same name.

no, there is no limit to bad jokes that can be made in these. though if you make one "you are supposed to laugh now" joke, and try to play the rest straight "yes you can laugh if you want" it might not be even noticeable.

is there any chance you could include like part n of X when you do multipart videos?

Yeah, I've always been pretty cynical about all the ways fans and writers alike try to justify the boob-window as anything other than fanservice, though I don't mind the character in some of her incarnations despite not running into her much.

Heck, I don't mind the new 52 outfit for her, though from what little I've heard since being bumped out of the loop by that reboot mess, her character hasn't been doing much of note or quite working on a characterization level.

Powergirls costume is pretty ridicules because of the boob-window, and yet I still really like it (aside from the obvious reasons). I personally think that she has one of the best costumes (I think her new 52 costume, with out the boob-window, kinda sucks).

So while it is ridicules and pandering I really hope she gets to keep it. They could perhaps make her a little less... endowed instead.

When he was talking about the dead of Supergirl and how iconic it was I got goosebumps // A good dead in comics will always make you feel that way

I'd just like a version of Marvel's cancerverse to invade DC the next time they try a parallel earths story. The ridiculousness of these storylines with their infinite plotholes is one of the primary reasons I never got into reading DC.

The thing is males can appreciate a strong female character without the need for a skimpy outfit. In comics, as long as she kicks ass most guys are impressed, then all you need is good story and it will be a seller. Way to many perceived stereotypes in comics now both for males and female characters. Thing is, with the internet, if a guy wants boobs then all he has to do is go online, we dont need comics for that now. Add a bit of reality, give them a proper costume for the work they are doing. I really dont think that adding a boob window will sell a characters comic, thats just retarded.

I agree with you about the "all she needs is to be badass" sentiment.

However, to be fair, they didn't have the internet back then and, based on other articles I've seen elsewhere, this may have been a time when looking up "friction" in the dictionary (apparently with a definition of "two bodies rubbing against each other") would send 7th graders into fits of giggles. Then again, that's probably still the case, although I can't know for sure because I grew up back when the internet was just starting to make its way into homes.

I think the overabundance of porn has made the subtle infiltration at the edges all the more unacceptable. I mean nowadays you have to actively work to not expose yourself to naked folks on the 'net.

Its made characters whose appeal is primarily sexy but skating past standards lose a lot and comic book superheroines are gaining a major drubbing both in proportion to their violations of good sense (Much of the Hawkeye Initiative) And otherwise (the boob window.. sorry but I have a strict if real women wear it by no coercision regularly in public its not contentious on a fictional construct of one, feminism has to hit more relevant points than a dude is getting off on this to make me take a complaint at face value.

Yeah this is why I don't read comic books, aside from the fact that they're too expensive to keep up with.

To be a bit facetious, I'm not sure I understand the problem. I like boobs, Powergirl has enough to feed a regiment and she has her own comic for people to read/ogle.

But there's nothing in the rulebooks that says DC can't also publish 'The Sensible Adventures of a Modestly Dressed Woman of Average Proportions With a Respectable Day Job That She Completely Deserves Who Never Gets Married or Kidnapped or Asks a Man for Help Unless She Later Helps Him Out in Return and Has a Discreet Sex Life That Either Definitely Includes Women or Totally Doesn't Because That's Just Fanservice, Boys, Grow Up, and She Has a Healthy Relationship With Her Father Because Daddy Issues Are Over. Also She May or May Not Have Superpowers But Either Way She Did It on Her Own.' Granted I wouldn't read that comic because it sounds terrible, but maybe there's an audience out there for that one.

Continuity ruins comic books the same way Dr. Phil ruins sex and I did not watch that much of american tv.
