Anybody seen this video? It's truly hilarious!

He's doing us all a great service. I just thought it needed to be shared.

You see that's exacly why I hate online gaming(the foul mouthed camping twat) as for the troll(though he is a good one) is doing us all a service.

Having said that taking position to snipe is not camping, staying in one position for the entire fucking game is.

HA! Is what i say to this video. I found it to be hilarious and that after just one polite request of "stop camping please" the guy immediately went into the "unoriginal insults" mode.

if camping is a problem in a game, that is more a problem with the game than the players.

News Flash: in real fucking life (which is what MW2 is aspiring to, more than the likes of TF2) "camping" is a reality of conflict.
Snipers: campers
Machine gunners: campers
Artillery/mortar: campers

In fact most military units like to sit tight in a defensible position to rain down fire over a wide area while being protected on their flanks. They only even move to be in a better position "to camp".

If you don't want to deal with campers then go play Quake or a similar run-n-gun shooter.

Argh! We have a camper! Get your riot shields...

As much as I hate the camper (Mainly for being an idiot) in the video, this guy is also an asshole for teamkilling. If the guy wants to camp, who are you to say how he should play?

I don't think a game that encloses you in a relatively small area can be deemed anything but a Tournament shooter. Or perhaps Arena shooter would be a better term.

The multiplayer maps are built on the same principles as those of any Unreal game, meant to push away from any serious realistic strategy in favor of running and gunning (in a manner of speaking.)

I think the main bellend of the video is the "camping police" guy, accusing the other guy of ruining the game then spending the entire time teamkilling.
Though the accused could have handled it in a more mature way.

Also, I agree with Treblaine, in my eyes "camping" is a much more acceptable tactic than that quick-scoping business everyone was talking about the other day.

You were still able to employ simple tactics in unreal games and the same applies to call of duty. If someone "camping" kills someone running around with a sniper rifle killing people with headshots while on the run then the camper has simply out-thought him.

Without a doubt the protagonist is a complete idiot; but he's going about his idiocy in such a well mannered and civilised way that his actions, juxtaposed with the typical abusive recipient, become hilarious and, in some ways, heroic.

Whoa whoa whoa, what part of this said I was a camper?

I don't play MW2 BECAUSE of camping. I don't particularly want to join the army BECAUSE of effectively the same situation. Afghanistan and Iraq are full of "campers": insurgents waiting with roadside bombs, sniper rifles, and concentrated ambushes. That is not fair, war is not fair. EVERYONE cheats and takes every advantage in war.

People who play modern warfare 2 get what they deserve being sniped for being seduced by fantasies that war, real war, or anything approaching real war, can be fair or honourable of sporting. Long gone are the days (died along with the millions in the trenches of World War 1) of "fair warfare between civilised nations"

In games I always use the most effective tactic, in these games with such accurate hitscan weapons and with such maps, camping is the inevitable strategy. So I don't play those games very much for the same reason I don't play MMOs, because the only effective strategy is grinding which is also not fun.

I play Team Fortress 2 and Quake, Left 4 Dead, Painkiller and such like that. I only play realistic war games with it in mind that if it is not fair I still have it way WAY better than actual soldiers who are using the same weapons as in game. I know quite a bit about the actualities of warfare and combat just from my obsessive curiosity and research, I see how many liberties these CoD-type games take...

At the very least it presents a dilemma for me.

I'd much rather have a completely unreal shooter than one that tries to be real, failing to realise that real war is not something for a game (that wants to be satisfying) should aspire to. War is a lot like a game, but the worst game ever invented, as both sides are making it as awful as they can for each other.

I enjoy this because it pisses off the people that need to calm down. But good griefing is cleverer. And team killing just annoys other people that don't deserve it.

The bit where it sounded like you were supporting the campers? As for the rest of your post, I didn't read it.
