I vote for the 360 or the N64. I have two hands that are the same size, so I'd like both analog sticks to be in the same position relative to the center of the controller.

but really the Wii is the worst purly because it lies about what it does.
No it doesn't. Nintendo never stated that the Wii remote was a 1:1 motion device. It was never claimed as one, except by wishful dreamers of the media. All they said was "Hey, if you move the controller, it does stuff!" That's precisely what it did.
Ahhh, fanboy alert. If they are going to release motion control then it better bloody work, thats like saying that Xbox never acctually promised better graphics, they didn't but it is a given, it should be there.
It does work. Quite well, actually. I shake the controller, and a response happens on screen. I use motion to control the game. Motion control. Yes, it would have been nice to have 1:1 at the start, but that would have driven the price of the console to astronomical hieghts.
You flick your wrist and something unrelated happens on screen, its not even close to motion control, and is therefore not a good controller. If it was expensive and 1:1 then it would be fine.
So since pushing a button hardly relates tothe action it pertains to, that means that Button control does not exist, and that any controller ever concieved fails? I'm not sure I follow your logic.

And I'm not talking like the $20 it costs to get a Wii Motion+ now. I mean a triple digit increase in price.
Its not how great other controllers are, for me its what the Wii dosen't offer that is a shame. Ill stick with a mouse and keyboard for now.
Okay then. Have fun!

Overall i'll have to say the Dualshock controllers, especially the first generation PS1 ones and the PS3 ones! i hate Dualshocks and the new bloody shoulder buttons are awful, ever tried playing a racing game? it's like trying to fight the controller to keep accelerating! and it's just generally far to small and uncomfortable, the analogue sticks are shaped like a mushroom making FPS harder to control and ... i just hate it. just poo.

The original Xbox first gen sucked, they worked but meh too big.
The Wii is really comfortable until you try to use them for anything other than Wii Sports
Original Sega Saturns were big and bulky too
Gamecube was comfortable until my hands got to big for it, and they broke easily
N64 worked well once you got a hang of it but still... meh

I love the 360 controllers, they're functional and they feel right.

the N64. But not the 3 pronged normal one, That one pronged one that nintendo dubbed the supposed "second player" controller. That thing was just.... how the hell did that fly?

I remembered I had issues with Saturn

Otherwise, I think most controllers are fine with Dualshock (PS1, PS2, PS3) being favorites. Thank goodness dodged the boomerang.

I tend to adjust to remotes pretty quickly, so I pretty much have no major gripes when it comes to controllers.

Although the analog on the 64 felt less than smooth so to speak.

I say the wii controller, but only because I can't get it to work for me properly. It just isn't precise enough. Maybe if i tried it with that new expansion thing.

All of the PlayStation controllers, the controllers just don't feel right.
That said, the original xbox controller was a behemoth & almost the size of the console itself... good thing they learnt from that.
Liked the N64 one though, it may have looked retarded, but somehow it worked.

Those damn Playstation controllers.

It's their third generation, and nobody thought that it may be a good idea to take a look at the controller and adjust it a little to make it more comfortable to hold?

Ugh. Based solely on controllers alone, Xbox 360 > PS3. At least Microsoft improved their controller after all the 'too big' criticism.

However, now I remember picking up a Gamecube controller one time and going "wtf?"

EDIT: Y'know what? Nintendo can't make controllers.

I actually really like the PS3 controller.

*duck to avoid incoming rotten tomatoes*

But the worst controller IMO would probably be the original xbox controller.

And to think that I was just going to trow in the original, gargantuan Xbox controler, but seeing some of the other controlers, I'm wondering what the hell I was thinking.

Nintendo controllers are usually the worst IMO, but I generally get used to them after a while. Other than that I can't really think of much. I quite like the PS and Xbox controllers of any gen.

I liked the N64 trident controller. Games rarely used the Dpad so you'd just have your hands on the middle and right grips.

But jesus, look at this shit.

I find this strange. I would vote for the PS line of controllers as being the best controllers, and by a long shot. Every other controller ive ever held have felt like it came out of a happy meal. I havn't played many consoles outside of the major ones, post original Nintendo era and on, but I think the worst Ive personally used would be the original X Box. So...huge. Ludicrously big. Can't handle it.

And for the record, I'm a PC Gaming elitist, not a console fanboy. So this is not a flaming thing, its actually my impression of the controller.
