The Escapist Addiction

I have a serious addiction problem, whenever I'm on my computer(which is a lot) I find myself spending most of the time on the forums, sometimes,I stay home sick and spend all day on the Escapist.

Most game sites and video sites(youtube) are blocked by my work. This is pretty much the only one I can get to. I'm not allowed to stream video either so I'm just waiting for them to block the Escapist because of my watching ZP.

Yeah, maybe a little. I don't think it's so much an addiction for me as it is an OCD thing. I have to check the site often, if I don't, I get a bit twitchy, but I don't actually need to do anything. Just boot up the site, glance at it, move on.

Yeah, I guess I'm addicted. I'm on every day, and it's usually what I do in my free time. I usually have to tear myself away to play a game or watch a movie or something. It especially sucks when no one is posting much, and I exhaust the posts that I'm interested in reading, but I'm compelled to stay on anyway "just in case" -_-

I used to be addicted to The Escapist real bad. Then my focus turned to PMs, and my post count faded. You could say I still am addicted, as I have like a billion things to do but I'm on here anyway, but the same could easily happen with a blank wall, so it's hard to say.

The fascination of Escapist is that it does not let you go. Once you have logged in you cannot just leave it. Are you do addicted to Escapist ? Do you think Escapist Addiction is isolating you from your REAL life, is it good or bad ? Will you be able to get rid of it later?

Exactly the same with me. Been a long-time lurker on here and finally went through the profile-making-thingy to start posting too. Takes up the gaps in between getting home from work, eating, going out with mates, playing games/watching DVDs and sleeping.

My post count is freakishly low compared to the other people who have been here as long as I have, but I always take at least 20 minutes out of my day to room the boards and see whats going on.

So yeah I guess you could say that I'm addicted.
