What is this? said:
To give the Moderators and the community a hand, I thought I would take the liberty of doing an up-to-date Escapist Community and Forum Codex/Map (updated regularly), with everything detailed from guides to user groups to help make your navigation, for users both new and old, and use of the forums that much better and easier. It is also to help prevent people's hard work towards supporting the community going unnoticed.

Alltalk and crits are on. This server is for fun, and if you really want to isolate voice, feel free to use our Mumble server (At mumble.escapistmagazine.com)

As we get regular users, we'll tweak things a bit more in map cycle and things like shortening the rounds on (ugh) 2fort.

All the maps have sourcemod with a fairly basic setup at this time. If anyone has good ideas for plugins, I'm open to suggestions. I may set up a test server on gamma/delta for new maps/plugins/etc down the line once we have the people playing to support it.

Also, Rock the Vote is enabled on all the servers, which lets the players call for a map vote. To do so, just type rtv in chat, and if 60% of the people playing vote for a new map, the server will immediately switch.

Okay, seeing as Clay hasn't updated this in a while, I'm doing it myself, albeit without his permission (he's been wanting me to go through and abuse edit this when he got round to updating it anyway). I'm leaving this spoiler here for changes that I've done in case he hates it and wants to change it back.

I like it!

Very intuitive, flows from most important and down.

Also, very nice use of code, it looks very professional.

We now have a thread to link to new users who really have no clue what else happens at the Escapist besides Zero Punctuation. Good work!

I say no, because those were chosen since they benefit the community.

Generally, the criticism I have to offer is stuff I brought up in the old thread anyway, so I've cut out anything which is now irrelevant from the quote to make it simpler, as well as adding in a few more notes:

Zombie_Fish said:
Title snip
If you're going to insist on having the title in H1 format, then you may want to put it as this:

[left][img]http://www.themis-media.com/media/images/siteimgs/ESC.png[/img][/left] [right][h1]Community and Forums Codex & Index[/HEADING]
[small]Find Everything you need for the best Escapist Experience.[/small][/right]

Otherwise you get a line going through the site logo. It's petty, I know, but I like nitpicking.

I've changed the title coding around here so that this time it actually looks decent. You could also swap the text and image around if you don't like the text being on the extreme right. Just put the left tags round the text and the right tags round the logo instead.

Maybe not.

I'm also not including my points on the BBCode thread as you already know those points and since some of them aren't official site code (the div class stuff is actually proper HTML code, instead of custom site code like most of the code used in these forums) and some of it you're a bit iffy about anyway, such as the video embedds I mentioned.

Catch up here on the events you may have missed in your favourite Escapist RPs [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/columns/rp-digest/6901-RP-Digest]
That's been discontinued and is no longer running. Again.

Not sure why you're saying we can catch up with something when it has been discontinued.

Written Features
I feel a bit cheated that you only feature the works of Shamus Young in the written features, considering how many columns we have [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/columns], our weekly magazine [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/apps/features/], our new webcomic series [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/tag/critical+miss] and The Sunday Funnies [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/100956-More-Sunday-Funnies-Comin-At-Ya] and especially considering the level of detail you went into for the video features.

This section has certainly improved, but I still feel like you should either do what you did with the video list (list every coloum and add a small description) for the columns or cut down what you've written about the video features.

Possible mention of the news room as well, maybe? Not sure what you could write about it, though.

And as a final point to save on BBCode, when you post bullet points you don't need to constantly use [ul][li] for each single point.

[ul][li]You only need the [ul] tag at the start of the list[/li]
[li]and the [/ul] tag at the end of the list, though the [li][/li] tags you do need for each point.[/li][/ul]

[ol][li]Same goes for ordered lists (same as bullet points, but replace [ul][/ul] with [ol][/ol])[/li]
[li]like this one.[/li]
[li]You may want to update both this guide and add it to your BBCode guide accordingly.[/li][/ol]

Once again, it may be a pain in the ass to sort out this BBCode, but considering how much you use bullet points in this thread it can save about 180 characters (ignoring the fact that certain types of forum coding can reduce the character limit even more), or about enough for a few more thread links/ descriptions if necessary (the character limit is about 65000 characters not including character limit reductions via certain BBCode tags and including any characters taken up by the BBCode itself).
Suggestions go to here [[email protected]]
And this is a dead link, it just leads to a 404 Error.

If there's any reason for ignoring those points or if you're planning on implementing them in the future then feel free to tell me.

Congratulations on getting this stickied as well. As a replacement for the old map is is certainly a damn good one.
