The Escapist is locking up my browser.

Anyone else noticed this?

It's only been a problem since just recently (today in fact), but every time I use my regular browser (the opera 10 beta) to view the escapist site, the browser locks up.

The only thing that's changed is the advertising, and it's the one thing that doesn't seem to load properly.

Need for speed - Shift.

Somehow, having an advertisement make an entire site unusable doesn't seem like a good move, now does it?

Perhaps you could look into it?

In the meantime, I'll be using an alternate browser while I'm on the site I guess...

I just clicked this thread and escapist went all wierd on me.

I've been using Safari on my Mum's Mac while my PC is being repaired, and sometimes the pages here don't load at all, or if they do then everything is on the left hand side of the screen with a big white space on the right. Also, sometimes parts of the page are replaced with HTML code.

My browser didn't let the escapist load up earlier on, but after a while of viewing other pages it let it load again >.> maybe it's a just a bug in the beta. Dammit, this thread killed the escapist >.>

It must be some weird coding that Opera doesn't like, because it was fine 2 days ago.
The only obvious change since then is the advertising, which is why I suspect it's got a bug in it.

Try as I might, I can't find any feedback/reporting info on the site itself to bring this to the attention of the site admins...

Oh well.
