The Escapist Now Hiring a Non-Games Editor!

Do you like writing about nerdy things that aren't necessarily games? Have you ever thought about moving to sunny North Carolina? If yes, The Escapist might be looking for someone just like you.

As you can see just over here to the left (on the forums), my title here at The Escapist is "Games Editor." That means I do a lot of writing about games - reviews, previews, and the like. While most of us here (if not all of us) play games, that isn't the only thing we do: From reviews of the latest anime titles [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/columns/checkfortraps], we at The Escapist have always prided ourselves on having a wide range of content for people of every geeky taste.

Right now, we're hoping to continue that - and to expand it, too. The Escapist is looking for [http://raleigh.craigslist.org/med/1983470628.html] "a full-time editor with a high degree of geek chic" to join one of the most awesome editorial teams in the industry. While a healthy love for videogames is perfectly fine (and indeed, encouraged), this Non-Games Editor would be in charge of finding, editing and creating excellent content that, as the name might suggest, isn't about videogames.

This means content about movies and television shows. It means content about comic books, manga and anime. It means content about cosplay at sci-fi conventions, late-night tabletop gaming sessions, the latest fantasy literature, webcomics and web video - you know, that sort of thing.

As always, we're looking for the best of the best. If you think you have what it takes and are willing to move down to work at The Escapist's head on over to the Craigslist posting [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/the-escapist-presents/1853-Tour-the-Fortress] and check it out!

I wish I could move to NC, finally my nerdy useless knowledge could lost its 'less' and become a 'ful', Too bad. Hope you find the best.

Quite a fitting picture, I have to say.

As much as I'd love to work at The Escapist, though, my non-game nerd knowledge pretty much ends with Firefly and a select few animes.

Awesome! I wish I was qualified for the job. If there was ever anything The Escapist needed that I could fill in for, I'd be all over it. Good luck to whomever applies and to whomever actually gets it!

Would love to try but if you haven't guessed it by now, I'm an illiterate silly twat who can barely form a correct sentence, while I'm probably up there in the geekiness and knowing trivial shit that's useless to most but us geeks get weirdly aroused by... I'm probably not your man and I'm not willing to pay for a plane to Carolina for you to tell me this in person. Besides... I'm guessing you want a fellow a little older than 19. I'm not even considered an adult in America.

So I'm doubting I'll be attending that. Though it's a shame really as I would to work for the escapist team and had it not been for my obvious lack of skill and maturity I'd jump at the chance to work but well I'm an film student living in England, South Carolina is a long way away and it's probably an expensive trip.

That being said, I congratulate the lady or fellow that gets the job and I hope to see them soon on the boards.

As fun as it sounds i think moving across the oceans from Europe would be a bit too much considering i have i job i don't hate so much for now. Good luck finding someone, and im waiting some new fresh content when it's finalized.

It's one state away, alas, I'm in school. But this is a pretty cool idea. Good luck with the expansion of geekiness.

This is the problem with the youth of today: too much time inventing nonsense words, not enough time taking a bullet in the lung defending a hill. I don't have to know what the hell twitters and texting and body sprays are to understand that they're not the sort of thing men should be engaged in. Like conversations, or painting things that aren't a house.

The following is a short list of things men should be engaged in, at all times:

1. Getting a haircut
2. Yelling
3. Digesting ribs
4. Hill defense
Get a job, hippy.

Sincerely, the Soldier.

Well obviously I won't be able to get it but I wish whoever does get it good luck. They actually make the Office life look fun!
