When's the deadline for applicants?
There isn't one. But considering it's a job application, punctuality is appreciated. We're going to do our best to respond to everyone in a timely manner, but be forewarned that we've had a lot of applicants, and getting back to everyone will take time. Stay tuned!

Too bad I live in Raleigh, North Carolina, don't have a car, and can't take a full time job! It's like I"m so close, but too far away! And I really need a job! REAL bad!
Alas!

You will be hearing from my lovely wife. As soon as I saw this, I sent her a text about it. I don't think I've ever been savaged through the phone quite like that. She is an English Major who has been published in table-top gaming books for story lines. We live on the east coast, up in Pennsylvania and I hate the cold. A shift south would be a wonderful change. You'll be hearing from her soon!

Question that came to mind - when writing a cover letter, is there any individual in particular that we should be addressing it to?
Editor-in-Chief would be a safe choice.
I put "to whom it may concern". I hope that's alright.

I have the sad now. If you'd asked in say, another two years, I'd be done with my Degree and be free to write. And move to sunny California.

Well, miserably damp England - looks like I'm your ***** for a while yet.

..so you don't need someone to hold your ears in case of droning on about technology you don't understand, create new genres in games by accident, or make political statements you don't understand the implications of, or anything like that..?

If only I could move to NC. This would be perfect for me as I am often up to date with the latest everything apart from games.
£40 on release for something potentially terrible. No thanks.

Sad days.

Aww Escapist, I lived in North Carolina until 2 months ago and would have jumped on this chance then. I'm kind of across the planet right now though without the means to come back. FML.

This only open to Americans? Or those in the USA already anyway...
Yeah, unless you've already planned to emigrate and have secured your visas, etc. it's very hard for us to consider international applicants. Sorry.

I would LOVE this job if I had the money to move to North Carolina.

Which I don't :(

I'd drop my life in a heartbeat but I suspect that a couple of freelance publications and half a business degree do not an editor make.

Well I'd certainly like a writing job, and would certainly be more than willing to relocate. I have experience writing articles for a sci-fi/fantasy movie website.

The question is, does lack of a college degree pretty much make my chances of being considered for this job slim to none, or can experience and overall quality compensate for that? If so I'll send my resume.
