To add to that, some of the panel rooms were not set up to record audio through their system; Greg was able to nab the raw .wav files for some of his panels because the Enforcers had the equipment available to record audio to a computer, but I didn't have as much luck for the panels I covered. I can understand the video quality not being too great, especially if you're viewing it in SD, but there's only so much I could do under the conditions. We're taking this as a learning experience, and if/when we decide to record future panels, we'll see what steps we can take to improve upon the experience using the equipment we have.Susan Arendt said:We've actually never recorded a panel at PAX before (well, not with video, anyway), and this camera is brand new. No, the sound is not ideal, for a variety of reasons (including the room itself) but we thought that having this not-quite-optimal version was better than not having anything at all.qwagor said:But he is right. Panel was great, but audio/video quality is absolutely horrendous. What did this 'experiment' entail? One camera on a tripod... For a site with outstanding video content this is unacceptable. Take a quick look at TGS PAX Live podcast (http://youtu.be/60nnX_B28s0), and take some pointers...Susan Arendt said:What a shock, Migs complaining about something we've done. First of all, you do realize that PAX isn't our show, and therefore no one is taking 'our' money, right? Secondly, this was an experiment. We've never done video of any of our PAX panels before, so we thought we'd give it a shot this time and see how it went. We're actually pretty pleased with the results, given the number of variables we had to work with.Migs said:In future, please please please PLEASE, find a way to record the audio from the sound system. The people who do work in the venue will know how to do this. If not, they don't know the venue and should not be taking your money.
This will result in much CLEARER audio and PLEASANT listing pleasure.
Other than that, good effort.
(Please fix this for Pax East/West 2013)
Well I for one thought the sound was fine given the circumstances. I could hear everything except the audience, which you guys can't really do anything about. Thanks so much for posting these panels, since I'm probably not going to ever get a chance to go to these I really appreciate being able to watch them.Susan Arendt said:We've actually never recorded a panel at PAX before (well, not with video, anyway), and this camera is brand new. Oh, the Expo fisting, for sure. At least the fleshlights were part of a game show where the point was to be outrageous. The fisting just kind of happened naturally.yunabomb said:Bareback was also the first thing that came to mind with the My Little Pony one.
Perhaps I've just been watching too much gay porn recently.
Also Susan, would you be willing to specify which of these was more TMI: fleshlights at Pax or fising at the Expo?
This is frankly my worst post ever on this forum.
Oh, for the Thor question? The contestant gave the answer "have dinner with" and the crowd was disappointed, but then the woman said "She never said what she was eating," which got a big laugh. Figured it was worth giving her props for.crazy_coug99 said:This is quite possibly my favorite video on the Escapist all thanks to Graham and Kathleen.
Susan, just out of curiosity, what did that woman say/do at the very end when you walked out into the crowd?
