Great comic, though I have to say it should be "come on" and not "common". Don't worry though, I'm sure it's a mistake that's not unusual, probably pretty normal, or, what's the word...

Anyways, keep up the good work.

I can never get myself to buy/play a metal gear game. I'll just stick to Metal Gear Awesome and laugh about jokes someone has to explain to me first. and penis jokes. nobody has to explain those.

To the guys who didn't get it, don't worry you're still perfectly okay and maybe even better off. It's not really a joke itself so much as a direct very real reference to a couple side missions in the game. You can see the sequence uploaded over and over at the youtubes. While it's nothing at all a major deal in the game or even remotely near pornographic, there can be no doubt as to what it's implications are. Just look up "Date with Paz" over at youtube and you should be able to find it. And it's existence itself is probably funnier on its own than anything I can write. Equally amazing would be the "Date with Kaz" which is a fine way to scare anyone else away from Metal Gear forever.

Heh. If the tone was complimentary towards the game, it's because I meant it whole heartedly. Though I can easily relate to complaints about the control issues that crop up due to the design of the system, lots of other new features added to the Metal Gear mechanic make this a hard game to avoid. It's interesting in more ways than just the occasionally goofy, often absurd plot, sometimes touching plot lines let on.

The way it knows how to abstract sending soldiers off to war in a game of statistics, or the paradox of desiring peace by preparing for war, are all legitimately awesome kinds of things that tend to be unique to the franchise. That it's also horribly gimped from the lack of a second analog nub, or a proper online infrastructure mode are flaws related to the console more than the game itself. But these are flaws enough that safely keep the game away from must buy territory.

Love the pencils.

As someone said before, it's "oh, come on" not "oh, common". This is the second time you spelled it wrong. You would only say "oh common" if you were having sex with Common, lol.
