We have dictionaries, and Brains!
Yay! Don't forget thesauruses!
Yeah but I don't think, "We have dictionaries, Brains, Thesauruses, and a hole assortment of other tools which can be used to better our language" quite has the same ring to it.

I forget who said this, if it was you, tell me, and I'll edit in credit:

Welcome to the Escapist, we've got manners and dictionaries.

Though that would be more of a slogan for the forums, not the magazine itself, which is what I assume the contest is for.

Glad there was finally a contest open to Canadians.
I know, eh?
...

No pun intended.
But it's good to see us Canadians getting some more love!

EDIT: My submission comes with a virtual essay of explanation! Let's hope that isn't a bad thing.

My explaination is also quite long. I don't think I'll win, but I'm glad I submitted.

Yeah I'm feeling the same way. Like, if you can't be the winner, you have this warm fuzzy feeling being a part of something bigger.

That's the magic of The Escapist.

THAT'S IT!

What does it mean when you want "Slogan" and reason why in bold, blue letter? Just making sure that's what you want me to type in the text box, and if so, whats the html for making it bold and blue? I'm an absolute n00b when it comes to this.

"The Escapist: come for the games, stay for the witty threads."

That's my post and is alright if I posted the reason why I chose such a slogan right beneath it in the text part?

Edit: Same here, I have no idea how to change the style and color of my words here.

I highly doubt it's supposed to be in blue and bold. It's just to emphasize that you need to have the quotation marks around the actual quote and it's in the beginning, not in the middle of a piece of text for example.

Okay...a couple of questions have come up:

1) Yes, if you are in another country do your best to fill out the shipping information. That rule was set because too many people would just put their first names or just a zip code...and personally, that drives me nuts.

2) Yes, you NEED to have a reason for your slogan. If you don't, you did not fulfill what the rules have stated and it is dismissed

3) You can only submit once

4) Yes, there is a badge but it is not immediate but I promise if you filled everything out correctly and submitted everything correctly, you will get a badge.

Any other questions, PM me or just post them here.

PEACE!

Slogan first, surrounded by quotes to make it easier to identify apart from the explaination following it. The coloration in the instructions was to make it easier for to spot the rules.

Make sure that is input into the actual contest page or it doesn't count.

Also, YES...this is INTERNATIONAL! :) YAY for the world!
I'm guessing that the reason so many of your contests are US only is due the nature of the prizes, Copyright laws or something international trade related, am I right?

Yeah, that is mostly what is has to do with. If we had our way, all of our stuff would be international...but sometimes that just isn't possible. We really try to create events that every community member, regardless of where they live, can participate in.
