Where can one get this "Bow Street Runners", the concept is very interesting.
Unless I am mistaken, it is a flash game, found here [http://www.channel4.com/history/microsites/C/city-of-vice/game/index.html]. I encourage Susan to correct me if I'm wrong, though.
Bingo.

I might need to try this when I'm not... you know... supposed to be working. Foruming is one thing but actually playing games while on the clock strikes me as slightly amoral.

If it makes you feel any better, I still feel guilty when I do it, too. No, seriously, I do.

Seeing LBP at #1 makes me feel like a not-so-secret-Santa genius. ;)

I obviously need to check out this Dead Space thing, seeing how Susan loves it and Chris Kohler hates it. I kid your old boss, Ms. Arendt, really, I kid.

Alright, please bring your card to the front so I can verify that you didn't accidentally misplace any markers. Nobody clear your cards until I've verified this.

Otherwise, the list is pretty definitely much more diverse than I would expect of a "top games" roster. A casual game, a flash game, a jRPG, survival horror, and sandbox platformer. Huh. I wonder if composing my own list on Off-Topic would be considered spam?

My job however isn't remotely game related, I'm supposed to be processing various reports and paper work regarding Land Acquisition for Resource Production... that really has nothing to do with games...

Interesting...I want your job now for some reason. Being 'allowed' to play games.

Who on these forums wouldn't want a job working for the Escapist? Unfortunately that would require moving to North Carolina, among other things, and I am WAAAYYYY to happy being a Canadian to move to the US for any reason.

Yeah but you're from Australia, land of Crocs and Videogame Haters...

Canada is like America... only friendlier and colder (A lot colder)

Sorry, I didn't hover over the flag on your profile, blame my idiocy for thinking "Oh, british flag in the corner, that's Australia right?"...

So I'll edit my statement too...

"Yeah, but you're from New Zealand, land of Giant Freaky Bugs and Peter Jackson."

Actually, other than the bugs isn't New Zealand pretty nice? Why would you want to leave?

To be fair, I'd move to North Carolina just to get out of Louisiana. Although, working for The Escapist would definitely be delicious icing on that cake.

Although, if working for the Escapist wouldn't pan out, I'd likely move to Australia over staying here in the U.S. of A. Although I'd likely end up going New Zealand.

Games are expensive. Plus it's a national tradition to do an OE for a year or two. (Overseas Experience)

I can understand the desire to get out of Louisiana, I certainly wouldn't be happy there. Personally I'd want to live in England... or Vancouver. I dunno, I love Canada a lot... I just hate Calgary and Alberta, there are no jobs here that aren't Oil related.

There was a joke about Calgary in one of my favorite comedy skits (Boot to the head!). But I empathize a lot of the whole Oil jobs thing, mostly because the two major jobs in my hometown are working in the overly expensive Casino (for Texan tourists), or working in one of the two major oil refineries just outside of town.

Thank goodness my projected career path isn't really region specific. I could do any of my life goals from just about anywhere in the world. Oh hell, did we just de-rail this thread?

Hurrah! I've always wanted to visit some of the Escapists, although I'm so far away from everyone else, it seems so absurdly impossible, or barring that, expensive. Maybe we should plan a meet-up in North Carolina, with guest stars Actual Escapist Staff, assuming any would be willing to pop by and say hello on their lunch break.

This just occurred to me... How does one "pull up a cookie"? If you'd like, I could grab a chair off of the stove, too. Fresh baked, too.

That one is done by a comedy troupe from Toronto... Calgary and Toronto have been at odds ever since Calgary started getting rich off of Oil Money.

Still, I'd like to be able to move to Vancouver, it's nicer there...higher crime rate though.

Were there to be an Escapist: Canada meetup, it'd probably be in Vancouver since that's where most of the Canadian Escapists seem to be.

Not that I'm trying to hint at specific dates or anything, but if you do go that route, you might want [http://www.vancouver2010.com/en/-/32678/q0c15c/index.html] to advertise it ahead of time to draw as many Escapists about it as possible, maybe even some out-of-towners.

That might not be a bad plan, but it would probably be in '09 since goddamn Vancouver will be crazy in 2010. Also Vancouver is nicer in the summer.
