The Escapist's E3 Week: Tuesday Preview
It's E3 week, and The Escapist is bringing you all of the juicy stories hot from the show floor! On the plate today: Sony and Nintendo conferences, Civilization V and probably Portal 2, and more.
There's an old holiday standard that refers to the Christmas (et al) season as the "most wonderful time of the year." I'm not saying that it isn't, but for gamers, E3 is pretty damn close. This is the time of year where we get to glimpse the future - we get to see all of the shiny new goodies that our favorite developers have in store.
This year, Team Escapist is out on the E3 floor in force. While the show floor isn't technically open yet, that doesn't mean that we won't be able to see anything awesome and new. Here's some of the stuff that you can look forward to today:
Nintendo Press Conference: At 12:00 noon (EST), industry leader Nintendo takes the stage for its press conference. Expect to see the reveal of the 3DS, the new Zelda, and probably something new starring Mario. Watch it streamed live on the Nintendo site [http://e3.nintendo.com].
Sony Press Conference Liveblog: Microsoft showed off the Kinect at its press conference yesterday [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/101327-Liveblog-Microsoft-E3-2010-Media-Briefing], now it's time for Sony to try to wow us with the Move at its 3:00 PM (EST) presser. Expect to see Killzone 3, LittleBigPlanet 2, The Last Guardian, and perhaps something new from either Kratos or Nathan Drake.
From the Show Floor: The show floor opens today, and that means we'll be getting hands and eyes on some of the most highly-anticipated titles out there. We'll be stopping by 2K Games (Civilization 5, XCom), EA (Bulletstorm, Dead Space 2), Sega (Vanquish, Sonic 4), and Valve (Portal 2) - and that's just a few of them!
In case you missed it...: Yesterday's top stories: conferences [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/101334-E3-2010-Kinect-Launching-Nov-4-With-15-Games-and-Star-Wars].
