That sounds like such an awesome idea I'm sure they'll try their hardest to fuck it up like they did the star destroyer sequence from the first game.

Sadly "Mega-Bacca" or whatever he might have ended up being called, was never to be, and the idea was shot down by none other than George Lucas himself, as Blackman relates: "He just looked at me and said, 'I just spent the last half hour talking to you about the importance of characters talking to each other, and you pitch me a game idea where the main character can't talk?"
Damn you Lucas this is why I hate you, honestly if you think characters talking to each other is so important then why is the dialog of most the prequels absolute crap?

Also this game would have been so much cooler then what they had come out. No that it was bad, but still a super wookie, who is going to say no to that?

If this idea appeals to you, go play Republic Commando.

Not just because it is an excellent Star Wars game, and a good FPS (first level and by-yourself sequences are the weakest; uncommon as game goes on), but because in one of the later levels you get AI wookie companions.

And they kick as much ass as you would expect. Possibly more.

Not as over the top as this, but there is a heft amount of bare-handed dismemberment. When a wookie makes your guns seem weak, you know they did something right.

TFU sucked anyway because it had so much potential and then all ofit was screwed up into a tight little ball and thrown away at high velocity, but having a Wookiee Superhero game might have been crazy enough to work.

Super-Wookiee would never work as a long, serious game, but as a short and silly smash-em-up it would be righteously awesome. I'm envisioning a DLC or a small stand-alone game, with a lighthearted tone along the lines of Lego Star Wars, but with better graphics so that we can more thoroughly revel in the glory of Super-Wookiee annihilating the scenery along with anyone who happened to be standing in it.

Perhaps we should start a letter campaign to encourage LucasArts to release this game. THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN, AND THEY WANT SUPER-WOOKIEE!

You know what also would have been a good idea Lucas? Another Republic Commando game. Wait, didn't you fire the writer of the books because it clashed with the TV series you're making? Why, Lucas? Why? You have perfectly good ideas lying around and you don't seem to use them. Just, answer me why don't you do these things that would be almost guarenteed to get you more money?

It would have been awesome, yet this is a little bit of old news since the creators of the game revealed what some of their original ideas were two years ago. This was one of them.

ARE YOU ALL MAD!? That was a stupid idea and for once since the prequels have I actually agreed on something George Lucas thought was a bad idea!

I can't think they could have made the game any worse then it was. It was a generic hack and slash with over the top graphics and that's it. The story was dumb, the characters were dumb, they would have been better if they didn't talk. An open world Wookie game would have been a lot better.

I would have expected Mr Lucas to want to make both games. Isn't that what he usually does?

Oh that would of been so awesome to play.

and you'd be able to grab the heads of AT-STs and throw them at stormtroopers ...
Thats just sounds awesome and entertaining. I demand they make this game now! I don't care what Lucas thinks.
Screw Prototype and your arm fists made of concrete! This is the real deal!

That would actually sell millions.. maybe beat MW2.. who knows? We would have known, crappy Lucas.

OK, seriously, since most SW-games, like TFU, are supposed to be at least semi-serious, this idea was batshit-crazy.
However, the most amusing part of this to me was Lucas's reply...

Think for a moment: you're the father of a succesful franchise, affecting most of its stories and such. Your franchise has tended to be semi-serious, and you wish to maintain that in the new game. In comes a game developer, who suggests that the new game should have a growling and mumbling superhero-furball as the main character, who goes totally over the top and crazy with destruction.

In this context, what would a more normal person reply?
Probably along the lines of: "Dude, WTF? Are you high?"

And Lucas is more concerned with the lack of dialogue this would have lead to...

Tells something about Lucas, now doesn't it?
(not that it is a new discovery)

I like The Force Unleashed how it is, though I would like more, so I'm glad it got made instead. But I still think this game would be neat too, despite sounding very much like Prototype.
