So, As I browsed facebook on of my redneck friends shared a video.

So yeah, the I can understand incapacitating someone after they attack you. But continuing to punch him while he's down and then his friend shouting "Yeah!" like his friend just beat up Satan is taking it too far. Did people try and break up the fight, nope. They just sat there recording it for the internet. It's disgusting.

And the site my friend shared it from was ViralConservative, I believe you can all see where this is going. Let me share some of the comments.

"I only saw a guy that ran his mouth - and didn't have the ass to back it up. The black guy let fly first - the white guy laid him out.... he got exactly what he had coming.... GOOD... this should happen more often." Someone supporting violence to teach people lessons. Great lessons for the kids

"if it was ONE white guy with TWO blacks,. BOTH BLACKS would be KICKING the white guy in the head. ONE ON ONE AND they can't deal with it." Racism is always nice.

"Somebody wrote a check with their mouth that their ass couldn't cash ! Bet he's a little more careful who he says suck my dick to and then throw the first punch at. Guess the 7-11 didn't have any skittles and iced tea. This is what Barry's son would more apt to look like asking another man to suck his dick !" More racism.

"Yaaaaaaaa That's what I LIKE
NIGGERS are STUPID" ... I just don't... "I am THE RASCIST and proud of it
and I welcome any and every fight I can get
Do you feel better telling me I'm a rascist ?
Maybe , when others start feeling like I do Then we can take back our country
And what about you YOUR remarks could get you beat up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" It hurts, it really hurts.

"NOW, THAT'S WHAT I CALL A KNOCKOUT!!
Too freakin' funny!" Yep, cause people being beat is hilarious.

"Another of Obama's sons!" More racism. Making me proud to be an American.

What is wrong with people? How can they just laugh at another human being beat up?

They aren't the ones being beat up. People often only care about themselves. If it doesn't directly affect them, then it doesn't matter to them. It's a pretty common thing.

I guess people are afraid that those two would turn on them? It isn't exactly a good idea to get involved with something you can't handle.

Ugh.

1. I kinda/sorta agree with the general sentiment behind "exactly what he had coming", if not the general assholery that accompanies it. If you attack someone, don't expect them to show restraint. If they do, good on 'em, but don't expect it. Of course the usual disclaimers apply: I wasn't there, I don't know the story. It's entirely possible Mr SuckMyDick felt that he was in danger and decided to get preemptive. I'll leave that one to the armchair brawlers.

2. People not breaking it up. Bystander effect. Common thing. Has been known to happen even in situations where helping would not have involved any risk at all. I'm sure we'd all like to think we'd bravely intervene, but the fact is, very few if any of us would. I wouldn't, not physically, not for a stranger, not against two guys. Against one guy is doubtful, two is out of the question. Quite frankly, I doubt you would either.

3. As for the assorted racism, I got nothing beyond the usual vague and haughty ramblings about demonization of visible difference, ignorance and poor upbringing. People come out with all sorts of profoundly ugly shit on the internet. I find it upsetting at times, but there's not much you can do but ignore it. Which, come to think of it, is presumably easier for a white guy like myself to do than it is for the folks who that shit is being aimed at. Fuck knows what it's like for them.

As far as the actual fight goes if that were a real fight in grappling style that happens. The guy literally got into the worst possible position he could be in any fight which is on the ground his back turned to him. Though as the fight goes yes after first few punches when the guy was on the ground and obviously lost by stopping retaliating he should have stopped and anything extra was unnecessary.

That said he shouldn't have went on the way he did he could have just walked away. Although, there is quite possibly more behind this but I'm just going on like the video is all that happened.

For not breaking up the fight as Zhukov said this is a common thing and is unsurprising that no one broke it up near the start but just essentially rang the bell when it was over.

The racism on the internet well what do you expect from the site that hosts videos such as that? Also people who are already like that get to shout more when there are no consequences. Same thing as kids flipping people off on the street when they're on the bus.

Easy, the bystander effect. If they were there, they would've ignored it.

But, hey, it's on the Internet; so it's just got to be hilarious.

Not going to lie... Those comments you quoted, OP, made me laugh a little...

OT: This reminds me of a song I heard a long time ago:
Honestly, it's all about trying to find the positive in the negative... even if, morality-wise, there doesn't seem to be one to begin with...

Oh... and the last thing certain bystanders would do is to intervene into something that could have made the situation more worse than how it was already presented...

By bystander effect are you referring to the dissolution of responsibility that comes with large groups of people?

An individual is most likely to intervene but if like 20 other people are around "fuck it why should I do it"?

The problem with the idea that you can just walk away is that often you can't. If someone starts a fight with you in public then you're not proving a point or fighting to first blood, if you try and 'be the better man' and walk away all it might get you is stabbed in the back.

To pretend as though you have any context or insight when the video is the last two minutes of a who knows how long and over what confrontation is silly. There's nothing to learn here that you shouldn't already know. Fighting happens, and it always looks embarrassing, because it is.

Would you try to break up the fight?
If so, why? Out of some misguided sense of justice?
The black guy clearly wanted to fight (he kept calling them out when they were walking away, he threw the first punch) and he got more than what he was asking for.
The problem is that he got hit in the head so much that he's probably dumber than he was before.

I think I know that QT. As far as the fight goes, that's Phoenix. We'll give you warning in the sense that we'll get loud, then if you continue you're pretty much fucked. I'll always contend that Phoenicians are fuckin' rattlers. Leave us alone and let us do our thing and we're good, If we get loud back off, if we strike you're going to need a hospital. Also I'm not gonna lie, there is a hatred for New York in parts of Phoenix.

The guy should've just walked away, shut up, or waited for the other two to leave, that would've been wisest. They were trying to leave and do their thing as a Phoenician is wont to do. I'm not saying it was right for the guy to keep on pounding the guy's head, on the contrary, I'm just saying, if you're in Phoenix and you want to get in someone's face, DON'T! Swallow your fucking pride, because it's not worth it.

As far as the internet goes, it's the internet. Anonymity + Audience = Asshole

They're scum. That's what's wrong with people.

I'm sorry if you had a more idealistic and optimistic viewpoint of the world, but the simple truth is that a LOT of people are just scum.

It's the same thing I say when the discussion comes up of why griefers in games grief: "cunts are cunts because they're cunts." That's just the way they are- they're bad people.

Races aside, this was a guy initiating a fight and getting incapacitated by the person he assaulted. That's what you do if someone attacks you: you make them unable to do so again.

You can say the white guy should have stopped, but I doubt most people would have acted differently in that situation. He had just been harrassed repeatedly and then attacked when trying to walk away from his harrasser, most people in that situation would be incredibly pissed off, and when you're incredibly pissed off, you're not suddenly going to think "Gee, I might have taken this a tad too far."

The incident: The guy went plenty overboard there. A couple of punches I can understand - just defending yourself by warding them off is hardly a deterrent to doing it again and does nothing to their capability to come at you, but the fucking motion on that head was sickening.

The bystanders: Did what I'd expect reasonable human beings to do. You don't want to fuck with someone who is on top of someone else punching the daylights out of them and clearly aggravated, but at least the guy was able to de-escalate the fight and stop it going further. As for filming it, I'd do that anyway just so I have a complete recollection of events if I have to be a witness later, but it did have the potential to be a funny video as well (before it became to my tastes too much).

The comments: I don't understand racism like that either to be honest.
