Gerard had never been one for riches, sure, the value of the gold bars in his safe would be enough to buy him a small mansion, but never the less, up until now he had lived in a tiny apartment in the suburbs of Berlin. This room however, was very beautiful, even for him. He was a little shocked when Paddy started tearing off the decoration.

Gerard had had has his share of tomb- and temple robbing when he was still alive, and felt no need to keep doing it in death. Besides- The fact that anyone could think of money in a situation like this was both sad and amusing. He chose to stay quiet about his thoughts, but anyone could see he his feelings reflected in his face as he watched Paddy loot the room.

Robbing and destroying temples or holy places is sensitive for Gerard. As a temple knight it had been a common objective, and some memories haunted him to this day. He sighed and turned away from Paddy, now facing Zala instead.

Zala caught the flickering of memory on Gerard's face and paused her investigation to place a hand of comfort on his arm, murmuring quietly. "He is still young. Such concerns are quite prominent at that age." A quirk of a wry smile slid over her lips. "And for all we know he might very well find a hidden room. It would not be the first place I have known to use glittering adornments as camouflage to keep secrets from the faithful." A flicker of wistfulness as she looked up at him. "You hold still your sense of what is holy. A rare trait among our kind, I fear. Count yourself lucky. Myself, I have only a belief there is something divine with intentions for us. Knowledge of it and a taste for worship were taken from me many years ago."

Many years, and yet the taste of hypocrisy still lingered on her tongue. It had not faded away with the falling and dawning of ages, nor dulled when the name of Inanna lingered only on tablets in the sand or mangled by new tongues. It had not started with her, but taking up the name had somehow made it seem all the worse for it.

Anna cursed under her breath. She was lost, cold and she'd lost whatever she was chasing.

"Damn!" she muttered. ahead in the tunnel, she could just about make out a faint light, and the murmur of voices. It sounded like Zala was over there.

Dashing forward, Anna came into the jade room. Her eyes flickered around, taking in the sight. It was like regressing three hundred years to her time in Northern Scotland, seeing the Aurora Borealis for the first time. She whistled lowly.

Seeing as no one paid much attention to her, she watched the silver river swirling. At least she wasn't alone anymore.

Shaun and Charles

Charles suddenly alights on one of the stranger sites he has seen. As he moves the body he does find them bearing the symbols. Some of them are adorned with medallions depicting some of the designs, and others have the remnants of embroidery that once illustrated the strange emblems. But one in particularly, the one in the very back of the room, seemed to have carved the symbol into the bone of his right arm at several intervals. The etching is difficult to properly make out, but it is certainly a semblance of the symbols on the walls. It was carved repeatedly in the same place, but healed over at intervals. The carving did not align perfectly every time, so the symbol seems to have odd distortions and adornments.

You are at odds with what to make of it.

Zala's group in the church
Poor Paddy does manage to pry one of the vast sheets off of the walls only to have it fall on him. It was a 5 by 6, six inch thick piece of solid jade. It crushes him easily.

The rest if the group will notice the astonishing sight behind the Jade. You are looking at the rising sun over the English countryside, as though through an open door or window.

Njord

The hooded man makes no move, but several men and women slowly convene on the scene, and you soon realize that you are surrounded.

"Paddy!" Even though the English countryside was an incredible spectacle, Anna had grown up there, and wasn't concerned with it when someone else needed help. She grabbed the edge of the jade panel and tried to lift it. It doesn't budge.

"Someone give me a hand!"

Gerard looked out the hole in the wall onto the landscape. He was surprised, the landscape was the exact place he remembered the church on the picture earlier to be in. It was like a dream- Not one of those pale and weak dreams he had as an immortal, but alive and magical like the ones of a living person.
He then remembered Paddy lying under the panel. He was ashamed thinking it, but knowing that Paddy got his punishment made him feel a little better.

This didn't influence his actions, however. Together with Anna he eventually managed to remove the heavy panel, only to see Paddy's crushed remains underneath.

"I think we should leave." Fredrick said flatly as the walls began to glow and the ominous moan began to emanate from the center of the room. Looking around at the others, he found no objection, and so got up and began walking briskly back the way they had come, through the tunnel. As he left, it seemed like he might have possible half-seen a tiny, only partly visible shadow flit away to his left. It could have simply been a trick of his eyes, but his eyes had long since learned what was a trick of the light and what was an actual shape moving. Nevertheless, he kept walking, stepping back down into the water and trudging his way back into the darkness of the tunnel as the room behind him continued to glow. He felt that they needed to find the others, Zala particularly. There was something not right going on here, and they could all very well be in danger.

Shaun had been silent for the whole time, taking the odd drink from his hip flask. "Well" He said looking at the depictions, "looks like someone was pissed off." He knelt down next to one of the skulls, and flicked it with his finger. The side of the skull caved in. "They must have been here a long time, lets go show this to the rest of the group...Hey, what are you looking at?" He turned to Charles, who was staring at the carved arm body.

"It looks like these symbols were carved right into the bone" Charles explained looking at them closely

"In Africa, I saw simaler practices used to mark those who apparently had scared or special powers...but nothing to this magnitude"

Shaun scratched the very faint stubble that was growing on his chin. He walked up to Charles and looked closley at the body, but then turned round to Charles and said, with a quizzical look. "Actually, I've just realised...I don't know anything about you."

Charles chuckled and leaned against the wall

"I could say the same about you"

He responded

"Well, I'm a American-Irish immortal who drinks. Not much to tell. I tried to stop a mugging and thats when I found out i was undeadable. I actually had a pretty good life till that happened. See, it played on my mind, me not dying, me not being able to save the guy. So 2 years later, I jumped off my office block, half to test it, half for the guilt. I died first in 1984." Shaun took a long breath and had a swig of his drink. "So, how about you?" He questioned, offering him the hipflask.

Charles took the hipflask and took a brief drink, before taking out his neatly carved cigar case and golden lighter

"Care for a smoke as well? It would be impolite to simply take your drink"

Seamus, standing in the doorway, rubbed his temples. "Oh does my head hurt..."

In the old IRA, Seamus had this...almost prescience in avoiding blows of any kind. He had scars all over from near misses with knives and bayonets. People who swung fists at him had a tendency to hit things he was standing next to. He just...wasn't there. He avoided blows instinctively.

Now, his instincts were sounding the klaxon, telling him to get the hell out of Dodge.

When he saw the English countryside, he dropped his hand and stared. "Why does that seem familiar...Is that the view from inside Stonehenge?"

"Sure, life is short!" Shaun said with a large smile as he took one. After some inspecting the bodies and paintings he slapped his knees and sighed. "Come on,we need to show the others this. Who knows what they found." Shaun started to make his way to the exit of the room.

Could we do something like it starts caving in? You know coz this dosen't seem to be going to much and I don't know if we're still going to Enklund. Also, I have this problem of not reading the posts of people I'm not directly involved with, so if I miss some key elements don't blame me.

Charles chuckled at Shaun's remark

"Life is short? Interesting coming from an immortal"

Charles waved to Shaun as he started to leave

"You go on ahead, I'd like to keep inspecting the room"

PM the OP about the cave in, and you could always just find and ask the other characters whats been going on, while still in character

Shaun weaved his way through the unaturally lit corridors, the only sound his breathing. He had a photographic memory that could not be ruined no matter how much alcohol he drank, so he knew his way. He twirled the cigar in his mouth, and as he was walking he bumped into Fredrick. "Hey! Its another guy who's name I don't know! Who are you?"

I said him Yorg beause you said you were leaving. ^^. Hi. Also, I'm going away for the weekend, so I won't be able to post much.

Paddy sat straight up and began coughing heavily as his lungs started working again. Popping some aspirin he looked up at the others with a smile on his face, he held up a handful of little pieces of the jade. Addressing Zala he said "Don't suppose you'd know a good geologist, I'd love to find some more about where this came from". Looking over at where he had pulled the jade from, he was surprised to see what looked like England.

Sorry for not posting, I've pretty much been doing school assignments from 3PM-10PM every night the past two weeks. But hey! HOLIDAYS NOW! Woo!

Giorgio had been eager to follow Fredrick away from the eerie man trapped in the box. His stomach had tightened in fear and sickness, though some part of him felt tempted to free the individual. It was impossible to tell whether this would be in their best interest- but he had little desire to consort with such an abomination. It probably wouldn't have provided much intelligent conversation, anyway.

As they rounded one of the narrow corners, his torch barely illuminating the darkened hallways, he heard Fredrick clash into another stranger, and a voice rise sounding as though it were filled with something. He peered over Fredrick's shoulder and saw the burning stump of a cigar.

"Ciao," Giorgio said over Fredrick. "Mi chiamo Giorgio," he pointed a finger toward Fredrick, "É Fredrick."
