Second off: Those of you that are big fans of both artists (such as me) have probably figured out what the thread is all about, but for those who haven't, here's the gist:
From legendary guitar virtuosos Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, which one is your personal favourite, and why is this so?
Personally, I prefer Steve Vai. It's clear he can't outdo his master in terms of technique, but the themes and feeling he puts into his music far outdo those of Satriani's, in my opinion. Sure, Satriani has some very beautiful ballads, "Always with me, Always with you" will always be in my mind, but Vai really touches my heart.
