Sonic needs to die im not kidding all those titles from the late 90's when we had the PSone and the N64. Those were the times of platforming legends but now we've tried to breath new life in them and now im hating almsot all of them the last one that i still have any faith left in is Spryo and i don't wanna see this one get ruined i want him to live.

Looks like an evolution for the Sonic Adventure type gameplay with nods to the 2D side-scrolling past of the character. Really looks good to me, hopefully all of the annoying characters won't show up in this one (Pretty much every character except Sonic, Tails can show up if they find a new voice actor that doesn't make my ears bleed). But saying that, if this is another Sonic Heroes type disaster I will wash my hands of Sonic forever.

As for the possible control issues... If you guys played Sonic Adventure 1 or 2 you would probably understand. It looks a lot harder to control that it actually is.

From the trailer, it looks like the entire game is one giant reflex test. Unless you are paying complete attention and have increadible reflexes, it does not look like an enjoyable game

Like I said above, I guess you never played Sonic Adventure... It basically is what you described.

Looks like sonic on PCP, Steroids, and an adrenaline syring stuck in his heart.

So many particle effects, motion blur, and "quicktime" events.

I think I'd have a seizure playing this, and I'm not epileptic.

Put him back on Mobius, away from the "real world" to the days when Sonic games were fun.
EPIC FAIL.

The "Mobius" was some shit that DIC and Sega of America fabricated instead of using the original Japanese stories.

Also, Eggman was the real original name, not Robotnik.

The latest trailer I saw of this Sonic game was fantastic. He's returned to his best form -.
Is the new Sonic 2D? No? Sucks.
Every played Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 on the Dreamcast? They weren't 2D but they were really good IMHO.

Wow, if this is actual gameplay, there's a lot they're doing right. No sign of Big the Cat of any of that crap, good sign. Clusterfuck style gameplay, good sign. And 1:23 to 1:27 was simply breathtaking.

No.. I dont think Sonic Unleashed will be the heart transplant the series needs. Sonic games all the way up to Adventure 2 were actally damn good. I remember I used to love them. Every sonic game from 2005 to now is shit. Except the ds ones of course. Just make games with good control ok sega?

You think Sonic has it bad, what about Streets of Rage? Shinobi? Comix Zone? At least Sonic's had any games in the past 10 years.

I still think they should make the occasional 2D Sonic, possibly just for handheld consoles.

I mean, if Mario can do it then why can't Sonic?

Edit: Oh shit, I hadn't heard of Sonic Rush until I saw this thread. Disregard this post. ;]

If they stop making it about angsty furry love and focus on how to make going really fast fun, they wouldn't have made those adventure games in the first place.

I don't think the current gaming market has a place for Sonic. The Mascot Game appears to be done for and only Mario remains, a sad relic of a past age, still standing strong but alone.

Back in the day... (when I say back in the day, you can automatically disregard this post.)
Sonic used to be cool, tails didn't talk, so he wasn't annoying, even knuckles was a decent character. Then they started piling on the stupid characters like crap on a corn field.

Go back to the OG Dr. Robotnik, not this Eggman crap. This new villain looks totally retarded, whatta douche.

Eggman and Robotnik are one and the same, and the name Eggman came first. Who's the douche now?

What they really need to work on is not the speed, but making sure that Sonic HANDLES PROPERLY at that kind of speed. That was the major problem with the Sonic game that came out on the 360 and PS3. While it was fast, it just seemed like a gigantic mess and Sonic's speed was incredibly difficult, if not impossible to control. In the original games, he went fast, but you could still control him and pull off fun combos. That's what the developers need to understand .. speed isn't desireable unless you can control what you do IN that speed.

I really hope it isn't as uncontrollable as it looks from that trailer .. it looks like they just redid the level from the 360/PS3 game, but kept all the gameplay issues that made that game such a disappointment. I do agree with other posters that they should keep Sonic OUT of the Real world and back into the world that he was originally in, with the themes of environmentalism against the industrialism/destruction of Robotnik/Eggman. Sonic can work in an open world, you just need to keep it .. grounded, in a way, like in Sonic and Knuckles. Hell, bring back Knuckles as a villian and give Sonic someone to fight against.

Seriously, I hope this game brings it back in the right way, but also moves forward to the next gen. But from the looks of that trailer ....
