The most Obnoxious DVD/CD/Blu-Ray boxes you own

I've recently been catching up on my Dr Who DVD collection lately and as I put them with my others my eye is always drawn to my copy of the first season (at least of the revival) box set;

http://i450.photobucket.com/albums/qq229/zedro66/completeseriesboxset_zpsbc87d9cf.jpg

This thing is just terrible and I'd advise anyone to avoid it and go for the normal version. Not only is it bulky and takes up 2-3 times as much space as it needs to, it also fell apart inside so now the plastic disk holders are just rattling around inside it.

But that's peanuts compared to these dumb things;

http://www.boomerangshop.com/web/files/product/201312/00947497-20131217155425-2.jpg

The idea of these is kinda nice I guess but they have that same problem of not being made for storage and your entire collection is gonna get crushed within the week so Marge's face will look like she's a victim of domestic abuse.

So how about some of yours?

Note; These are NOT including instances where you got a silly box but with a normal box inside like most special edition video games.

(Lord of the Rings Blu-Ray Extended Edition)

The box set itself is fine. Many discs await you to get all you could ever dream out of the Lord of the Rings series with a ton of extras and whatnot. So why is it so bad you ask?

You have two discs per movie so halfway through any of the three movies, you have to get up and change the disc out.

...are you fucking kidding me? I can recall ONE other time having to do that...Titantic on VHS. V fucking H fucking S!!! You're telling me that the Blu-Ray disc just plain can't handle all of one God damn movie?!?!? I wasted a whole lot of money on this thing when it came out and only watched half of The Fellowship of the Ring because I'm not about to get up in the middle of the movie to switch out the disc like I somehow slipped into a time warp and ended up in 1990.

Sometimes I look at myself and think I'm overreacting and then I realize if anything, I'm underreacting and should have sent the box back to Peter Jackson himself but filled with a big piece of poop (it probably wasn't his call but he is the face so he's stuck with it). I'm not getting my money back because of said piece of poop but I feel that just returning the film is not enough to display my displeasure.

I have a hentai, Sex Warrior Pudding. The only porn I've ever owned in a physical space. Bought it when I turned 18 because I wanted to express my new found freedom as a legal adult when I turned 18 and I don't smoke.

The one thing that kind of annoyed me about that boxset was that the extras were on regular DVD. I mean, I had already seen the extras on the DVD collection, but since this was the blu-ray collection I expected the extras to be in HD, too. That really bugged me.

Again, really just looking for boxes here.

Like the boxed version of Final fantasy; Spirits within (Which I can't find an image of online) this thing was already using a pet peeve of mine, A cardboard case with a slip-on plastic cover (ie the best way to damage a cover at the edges) but the slip-on cover had the same text on it as the box, meaning you had this weird double image effect that meant you couldn't read anything on the cover, nor tell what the images were. Though this may have been deliberate considering the movie.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Probably the most obnoxious one I have is the evil dead book of the dead edition.

its weird to fit on a shelf since you also dont want to mash it too bad.

I have one of those old boxed sets of Neon Genesis Evangelion that takes up like 1/4th of my total shelf.

You don't get the sense of the enormity of it here but it's pretty damn gargantuan. Combined with the Platinum collection it's like the big wall of weeaboo.

But is it warranted for the number of disks included?

That's the thing, because it's such a massive collection I can't really blame them. That's compounded by the fact that they're DVDs they can't hold nearly as much space.

I'm going to be floored with how big the JoJo boxed series is in the event they animate all the way to Steel Ball Run and beyond.

I'd have to go with this box set for the full series of the original Knight Rider.

Not that it's a horrendously inconvenient thing to store or anything. I just gave myself a huge cardboard cut when I went to pick it up and proceeded to bleed all over and ruin one of my favorite sweaters at the time.

I really like the UK Blu-ray box for Deadwood. They put all three seasons in a Blu-ray case that's twice the width of a regular one. When you open the case, you flip through the three seasons like a book. That's way better than most shows having cases for each seasons. The only negative is that the disc faces don't state which episodes are on them, only the season and the disc number.

The worst set I own in terms of design is Breaking Bad's. You have to open the box and then pull out the cardboard sleeves for each season, which fall out if you're not careful. The bonus disc is in a groove on the inside of the box, making it really hard to pull out.
The 1960's batman DVD collection is pretty nice actually except for the fact it holds the disks in something that resembles some sort of chinese pressure puzzle.

(I have a stupidly huge dvd collection, hence I've got a lot of examples that bubbled up to stating this topic)

I don't have any particularly obnoxious game or DVD cases but I do have one irritating case in my CD collection and that is 10,000 Days by Tool. The case is a bit thicker than normal to accommodate the artwork, which is fine, but there's the overhanging flap on the front with a set of wobbly lenses in them that you're supposed to view the art with. Thanks to this, the shape isn't uniform so it doesn't fit at all onto my CD shelves.

It just wants you to appreciate the enormity of the series.

The new collection is classy as hell, though. I'll be buying it again if it ever gets brought oversees.

The one I can think of at the moment are-

Samurai Clamploo boxset. The main problem is that it came with a bandana which was stuff in it as if it was a dvd. In another word, there is a space inside it so the episode cases slide out of it!

Steamboy. It pack with tons of stuff in it so openning it is kinda like a russian doll except it's a fiddle openning it!

My copy of Beowulf comes in a obnoxious long case in a shape of a book. But it took the dimensions liberal and it standstaller than a normal dvd case.

And I have a copy of Stephen KIng's It. For some reason it's a doublesided DVD and needs to be turned around manually when it is halfway through the movie.

Sliders seasons 1 and 2 (one set) came in this odd thing where the disks weren't actually in holders, but stuck in foam glued to the back of the box. I mean it looked cool, but pulling them out felt like a risk. They';re no in individual CD cases inside the big case.

In terms of space, that EVA set is a lightweight. I've got all of Urusei Yatsura, which is 62 disks each in a normal DVD case, (not slim or doubled). Takes up 2 shelves.
