The Muppets Demonstrate Danger of YouTube Videos

The Internet can be a hard place to try to catch a break, as poor Beaker learns quite well.

I can think of one good thing that came out of the failure of attempts to revive the classic Muppet Show: The Muppets are absolutely hilarious in short-form Internet-sized bits. This latest video, titled "Beaker's Ballad," shows the meep-lingual Muppet all classic-rock'd up in order to take on Kansas' famous "Dust in the Wind."

Unfortunately, inexplicable popularity of Tay Zonday aside, the Internet is a very hard place for an aspiring musician like Beaker, and scathing YouTube comments quickly put an end to poor Beaker's aspirations of stardom.

Now, it's no single best thing [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgbNymZ7vqY] I saw in all of 2009), but it's a hilarious little video poking fun at the trials and tribulations of the Internet age.

Man, what did we even use the Internet for before YouTube?

Porn.

Poor Beaker. The youtube users are relentless and stupid, a dangerous combination.

You're missing the closing quotation mark after the YouTube URL in your a href tag there (adding it produces "Muppet Bohemian Rhapsody" [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgbNymZ7vqY], the result you were clearly aiming for). Might want to fix it so the news post looks nicer (and so the link will work).

Also that is hilarious.

That's terrible, but also so terribly, terribly right.

Chalk another one up for Gabe's Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory.

Poor beaker man, and of course someone ended up saying "Is he died"
As for what we used the internet for before Youtube, I didn't really have internet, but I can guess what others used it for.

The music videos that the Muppets have done are pure gold. I really hope they continue to pump these out. Classic entertainment...

did beaker died?

That was quite funny, you can't beat pop culture jokes as they happen. Just think, in 5 years that video will be irrelevant :(

Heh, that was pretty good.
I haven't seen any muppets things in a while, but... as educational vids (of a type) go, that isn't so bad.
