Ok taking all that into consideration it would be a hell of a lot of coincidences to not be what it looks like it could be. I wouldn’t be surprised for the air fog to clear sometime later this year at a future State of Play or something. If that’s the case, my list of highly anticipated games has grown to three.

I mean a direct Tweet from the company: "We wanted to set things straight. We have no relations with Konami. Silent Hill is owned by Konami. We do not have any relations with Hideo Kojima. It was never our intention to tease the name as Silent Hill. We sincerely apologize for this"
Unless Konami sold them the right to Silent Hill on the downlow, and they're both out and out lying about it, I can't see how this is the new secret Silent Hill. Would be a hell of thing to have to go back and just be like "Yeah we straight up lied to your face, it IS Silent Hill, now check out this gameplay and trust us its good."

You really think they care about a lie if it means keeping things under wraps (someone either screwed up with that tweet, or did it on purpose to stir shit up) until they’re ready? Nobody will care by that point if it does end up being it.

“Hey everybody, welcome back to Silent Hill!

“YAY…wait, YOU LIED TO US, BOOOOO!!!!

Lol, no.

This is MatPat levels of conjecture here.
After reading the entire article, I’m left wondering what else it could possibly be. The “studio” is obviously a front, having no past credentials and using bad grammar for press statements. So what’s its purpose for this elaborate exercise of smoke and mirrors? It’s clearly being done by someone within the development side of gaming industry, but it’s also clearly a ruse for something else, because no “real” studio with anything notable under its belt acts this way; it’s all too silly.

This goes well beyond the realm of coincidences. This is trolling on a professional level, and who within the industry has been well-known to do such things?

Normally the simplest explanation is most likely to be true, unless Hideo Kojima is involved.

Oh sweet summer child, you have no idea what's really going on. You think its a game starting with S and ending with L, why? Because they told you? The same they that want you to think its not Silent Hill? Please! Open your eyes!
S and L are clearly meant to be D and N. The number 27? Supposedly a reference to April 27th? You know what else its a reference to? April 21st, but you never thought of it, did you?! And what happened on April 21st? RANDY PITCHFORD WAS BORN 50 YEARS AGO!
50 years. Take that apart. A 5 and a 0. Add them together, 5+0, what do we get? That's right, 5! And how many Duke Nukem games are there? 4! Meaning the next one is the 5th one! 5!!!
Which means clearly BlueBox Games is a front for the next Jet Force Gemini game, because only an idiot would believe them teasing Duke Nukem.

Why in the hell would they WANT to keep it under wraps? It's been well established at this point, that the best thing you can do is "leak" details about an upcoming project, and let your zealous fanbase spin an entire promotional campaign for you on social media. Saving you tons of money, and keeping the public interest at Ultra Nerd Levels from the word Go. Given how ridiculous Kojima cultists are about his coke fevered ramblings in the form of video games, I see no reason to keep this from them.

It's entirely contrary to the current way things are being run these days, in regards to marketing and advertisement.

I mean this happened: https://www.escapistmagazine.com/v2/bloober-team-konami-enter-partnership-amid-silent-hill-rumors/

I doubt Konami has two Silent Hill games in production, or sold the rights to Blue Box, and then brought on horror maker Bloober for like Kiwi Soccer Land or some shit.
Oh. Well, guess there won't be a Silent Hill renaissance then. Ok, that's maybe jumping the gun a little, but supposing Konami did assign Bloober to Silent Hill, that doesn't inspire much confidence. They may be known for horror games, but all I've played from them so far has been rather mediocre, both as game and as horror.

I think a lot of people fans would lose their shit if it was confirmed that basically another B Team has been tasked with reviving a beloved franchise. Because, the last few attempts from such studios went so well ‘n all. At that point, just stay dead, Konami. We’d rather you announce a new pachinko because all your golden geese are gone.

Also, would it kill Sony to shed any light on this soon, one way or another? From where I’m sitting, Play has certainly been limited…

Limited stock, limited info, limited releases, limited controller QA, etc. How many generations are they going to keep reusing the same flawed component.

I mean I guess, horror games are tough for me because I find it very hard to get invested in plots in general, and horror requires more depth than usual to trigger the scares correctly. So like I never found any of the Silent Hill games scary, they were more annoying with slightly weird visuals. Silent Hill 3 I was invested in the story, but never the scares. The monsters were always so blurry and blobby and covered in fog to keep the frame rate from crashing, but I could never tell what was what and why I should care, let alone be scared.
But what has Blue Box done? I honestly can't think of a single game they've made I remember.

Is it? Nintendo outright cancelled those Netflix projects explicitly because they leaked.

To be fair that's a very convenient excuse. The projects could have been mired in production errors, writing problems, re-writes, legal problems with crew, actors negotiations fell through, Netflix changed contracts around on them, or simply funds were diverted to other projects and then BOOM! Its LEAKED? Oh well, cancel the whole thing, totally the fault of the leaker and not a systemic error from the ground up.

This showed up in my feed the other day as its tangentially related to my interest in silent hill games I guess. My only interest in this is my minor fascination with the question of why anyone gives a shit about this mystery box game hype garbage? If a new silent hill game comes out aaaaand its actually good? great I'll play it. Until its actually coming out I don't care. I hate that gamers get wrapped up in these souless hype trains.

So I guess Blue Box and the whole new Silent Hill/Metal Gear was a scam the whole time. Who knew?
Trying to take advantage of the hype machine and riding on the coattails of Kojima’s penchant for this kinda thing. Remember Moby Dick Studios or whatever fakeout promotional but that exposed MGSV? The problem is, Bluepoint didn’t have Kojima.
