For those of you unfamiliar with the first film, The Raid: Redemption is Die Hard with Pencak Silat, an Indonesian martial-arts. The film as a whole actually stands up well and that makes it definitely worth watching. Check it out!

The Raid: Berandal, it means thug, looks to up the ante from its predecessor with more of everything. More set-pieces and more locations, not to mention bigger, and more characters. Personally I can't wait for it to come out. What can I say? It's shaping up to be everything I could want from a sequel.

Your thoughts?

I was a huge fan of the first Raid film, the fight scenes were just ... well ... amazing. The best I have ever seen in a movie. So I look forward to this film too, although I have NOOOOO idea if it will be in cinema in Australia, so I might just have to pick it up on DvD.

I'm hoping that this film tries to expand on everything.
So far, this trailer fulfills that promise.

So yes, I am looking forward to this movie ... just like the Lego movie. XD

The New Zealand release date is 2014 so according to movie release time law, it should be out this year for you guys c;

We appear to be looking forward to the same movies. If it wasn't for the Tasman Sea I'd tag-along lol.

If it is a movie about a man locked in a building who can only get out by beating up everyone else in the building then I will buy it.

EDIT: Now all we need is Dredd 2 and the year will be complete.

Well part of what I loved about the first film was that it was all so confined and claustrophobic; not to say I'd be disappointed in any way to get more bone-crunching brutal fight scenes. Hell yeah, sign me up - will wait for this one.

As long as they keep the 15 minute long fight scenes to a minimum I'm there.

The first movie was great till you see that one guy take out an entire hallway full of goons like it's nothing. Share the badassery among the characters, don't just have one guy be utterly invincible. It was the teamwork within that first scuffle in Redemption that was so engaging. So I hope in the sequel they don't immediately kill of all the supporting characters so that the protagonist can be Superman.

I liked the first movie when there was action going on, but when there wasnt it really dragged for me. Hopefully this sequel will have a better balance to hold my interest.
