I personally had to chose randomly from my top five.

I chose this
the epicest most epic piece of epic epicness ever to be heard by human ears (even if it does take a while to get going). from one of the greatest games of all time. your welcome :D

(an orchestral arrangement by Jeremy Soule... for a game he didn't work on)
...as at least one other escapist has pointed out, though, there's just too much incredible stuff out there to choose just one... I could go find a video for every great piece of music from Squaresoft's 16-and-32-bit generations... and I could do the same for everything Jeremy Soule has ever composed... but instead, I'll just leave the choral track from Xenogears here. It has its flaws, but its pretty unique among video game tracks.

For me, it all depends what kind of mood I'm in, but sometimes I get one song stuck in my head and need to listen to it for a few days or so. Recently, it's been Phendrana drifts/depths from Metroid Prime and Molgera Battle from Wind Waker. One of my favourites is definately Butsutekkai from Ikaruga.

The greatest though I think is the classic Korobeiniki Tetris theme, so well known and catchy.

Literally any piece of music from the Halo franchise. Marty O'Donnell is the king of video game music, maybe just music in general

Almost anything from Jesper Kyd, and the most epic theme song ever Battlefield.

I can't top "Baba Yetu," but I think I've got a good second place entry.

Add some incredibly nuanced voice acting...

...and Homeworld delivered one of the best pairings of music and visual sparsity to convey an atmosphere of vast emptiness.

This song MEANS WAAAAAAAAR!!!

Oh, it's also one of my favourites ever. Pure awesomesauce. Then again, pretty much anything by Frank Klepacki is inevitably great.

I'll have to go with Hell March and Grinder. I spent way too much time playing the Red alert Games and I think Frank keeps getting better and better.

EDIT: It got posted two posts before me, but I prefer the RA3 version

My second choice would be this:

You, fine person, have revived my childhood.

Second post, but can I add to the list every single version of Vampire Killer, of Castlevania fame, to the list?

C&C Red Alert 1 - Hell March
you have good tastes, though for me hellmarch 2 was better:

though grinder(the main menu music) was also great:

I don't really have a favourite piece of music from a game but I would say that if any game has the best music it's Aion, if the rest of the game was as good as the soundtrack WoW would be long abandoned

Still sends shivers down my spine to this very day.

They dragged out a pretty impressive full orchestral remake for BF1943 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEGD-tQQqbA&feature=player_detailpage But I still maintain that the original kicks so much more ass.

Oh, come to think of it, that would be tied with Metal Gear Solid 2 theme tune, but I'm sure someone's already brought that up.
