What song has had the greatest impact on you? One that invokes such a response in you that you feel it has changed your perspective on life?

My personal choice is Time by Pink Floyd. Appreciate the little things, because time stops for nobody. It also helps that it has an insane guitar solo.

What is your song?

The only song I believe I can say has drastically changed my life is this one. It is the song that actually got me to start listening to music. That's a pretty big change, I think.

Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Tears for Fears. It's the first song that I can remember really liking. Runner-up would be Albuquerque by Weird Al. I don't know if that one counts as a "song" but it was like the perfect blending of music and humor and it inspired me to start writing so I guess it had some kind of influence on my life.

This is mine:
This sing changed my whole life...from a music standpoint. The first time I heard it I was transfixed. I then went home to listen to my other music and...just stopped in my tracks. Everything I had in my collection sounded empty and hollow. I new then that this was the music I really liked and there was no going back.

Can't say there is any one song that greatly impacted my life per se, but there is Oxford Comma by Vampire Weekend. A friend gave me their albums after i had a messy break up and there was something about the song that cheered me up and made be get out in the world.

Stan - Eminem ft, Dido

It was probably the first non-movie song I ever heard that I liked and got me into all music. Except for metal because I was a little ignorant 5 year old.

I went though most of my life never even hearing a metal song ever (never on the radio or TV) until one day I bought a game called Tonh Hawk underground Remix and I heard:

Liberate - Disturbed.

From that point on metal has now become my favourite musical genre and it has branched out quite a lot.

Two songs have made a fair amount of impact on my life.

It's in the name.
Helped me keep my sanity and from plummeting into complete boredom.

No song has ever impacted my life. At all. I've never listened to a song and had my mind blown, I just don't think of songs as significant enough to have that effect. That's right. I don't consider music to be terribly important.

Not revolutionary, per se, but I was having self esteem problems at the time and this helped me work through them.

"Yakusoku wa Iranai", the opening song to the anime series Escaflowne, pretty much single-handedly got me interested in the Japanese language, leading to a year studying there and a Japanese degree. Affected the course of my entire life.

Hand of Blood by Bullet for my Valentine.

Opened my eyes to the wonderful genre called heavy metal and washed away my impure hip-hop affinity

It was thanks to this song that got me into dance music and became a big fan of them as well. I literally surf the music channels to listen to it more when I first heard it.

When I was in 7th grade my father called me downstairs to have me listen to an old 45. He said that he just found it and thought that I would like the song. He was right, but little did he know how I much it would change my focus. The band was Dead Kennedys and the song was Too Drunk to Fuck. I still love the song to this day. It showed me real punk music.

It is raw and dangerous. That song started my love affair with punk music.
