Wouldn't that be a USPS problem? Or is that being undercut? Or its not mandatory for tracking? Like you have to pay extra?Yea, I have a heart condition so I did a mail-in vote in KC, Missouri. No way for me track it at all.
I am fascinated by the minutiae of making postal votes secure. Not being in the US, also trying to find out info. We had a state election three days before the one the in the US. So I am directly comparing. Had plenty of postal votes across the state but I don't remember tracking being an thing. The issue is that we request postal ballots but they didn't arrive until the day before and they needed to be returned before election day. Which was a failure. I'd almost prefer everyone gets sent one with plenty of time to make sure you get a choice.
It also means I couldn't see our verification process as I immediately threw them out and didn't think to compare how they work and why the US one was 'seen' as so bad
