Taza, On the Roof of the California Academy of Science at Night, Modern(?) Times

Taza smelled the air, it was full of scents he didn't recognize. The sounds in the distance were also strange and unfamiliar. HE wondered where the spirits had taken him.

He looked down at the owl before him. The presence of a familiar animal comforted him somewhat. Then a thought occurred to him, this owl was waiting for me, it must be a guide sent by the spirits.

"Are you meant to guide my journey?" He asked the owl, speaking to it with his powers of nature.

Aeronwen, In a Mall At Night, Modern(?) Times

A girl appeared, surrounded by strange people and stranger sights. She was confused, a moment before she had been in the welsh countryside, verdant and peaceful, the next she had landed on a hard floor in this unknown place. She reached up to her shoulder, her hand searching for Pryderi, but he was gone, where? He had been perched there before she had fell into that rift, where could he have gone? She got up and started frantically searching for him, shoving her way though the curious crowd.

(Welsh-"Pryderi") She yelled ("Where are you?)

Alexei, Stuck In a Tin Can, Modern(?) Times

Alexei held still for a moment. Crash landings were a scenario that he had practised and revised a hundred times back at mission control, but a real crash was unlike anything he had ever experienced. Looking out of the two, tiny capsule windows, all he could see was soil and sky.

Where am I?

Failing to notice the blood on his lips, he attempted to shove open the capsule door with his feet.

There is a large island in the middle of the sea, where and when is irrelevant, asides from it being very sunny and peaceful.
Shaped like as one of the few sole occupants describe it, "like someone took a bite out of a cookie," and so far no one has said otherwise for such an apt description.
Facing it towards the opening there is a small mountain high enough to touch the clouds, a light house on the right, a white pillar with a black glass top. Situated on a barely elevated section to be considered cliffs, as the crashing of the tide weathers it.
To the far right on the other end of the bite is a small unused dock and pier, no boats, and looking pristine as the day it was made.
In the middle is a large and varied beach, and on that beach is a man, bathing and admiring the sun in the sand. He may or may not be a she, it depends on the context.

"I do not get paid enough to do this accent, and where are the camera men, my god! Oh let me guess, you are on of the'wild cards' my manager spoke of, well great! Like a need another foreign upstart hogging my air..." The man was muttering loudly to himself, his voice rather plain, English, and like he was from Ireland a tad.
Perhaps it was a flickers of the eyes, or some expression on Saoshyan's face, "Can you understand me?"
Every word was perfectly heard, the magic was working.

"This is a joke right?" The man spoke, his voice a bit younger as it noticeably cracked on right.
"I locked the doors seconds ago, and no way you could crack the roof..." Shining the light down at her legs and feet, he blinked and looked confused.
With the light no longer obscuring him, he looked young and clean shaven, Asian with shaved hair showing on the sides of his head, his voice was clear and calm, light with a New York accent.

The kid now in better view and light was wearing a black robe with a hood, and holding a toy scythe. Looking almost comical with an over-sized skull mask and sneakers poking out from below, the kid looked Dune up and down.
"My parents told me to never go with strangers, what's your name?" Sticking out a hand and tone full of curiosity, "I'm Sam, or Samy, or Salmon."

Her yell got a few curious glances, and drew the eye of more then one guy, one in particular along with a small posse at his back walked with a swagger towards her. Dressed in torn and ragged jeans, and skin painted alabaster, he was wearing a Mask that gave an impression of Comedy in theater, twin to Tragedy. Simple, white, and made of curved circles, he had long black hair that went past his ears.
"Well hello there lovely, get lost to a party, or care to find one?" Voice full of confidence, and physique well toned, any sane person would immediately say "Pillock"

Three things immediately presented themselves, the door popped open with surprising ease, greeted by the night sky. Second were fierce lamps shining down on his capsule, and three was the fact after a jarring bump tipping the capsule, he was in a truck of some sort, with his capsule on top of a large amount of dirt.
A desert at night trailing past him at surprising speeds, and the wind arid and warm.

Alexei, Stuck In a Tin Can, Modern(?) Times

Alexei blinked under the harsh lights.

(Russian: "What the?")

Carefully, he gripped the sides of the capsule and climbed out onto the bed of the truck. Due to the uncertain footing and the occasional bump, he kept crouched down. He tried to gauge his surroundings, looking over the sides of the truck, and at the truck cab itself.

Who's driving this thing?

Leigh, On top of a building, Night. Modern(?) Times
Leigh gingerly stepped back from the damaged section of the roof with a sheepish expression. ?Oh, yes, well I did not quite mean for that to happen, see, I have not fallen that far before, and well, I thought the shock absorbers would be able to deal with it, but well?? She gestured helplessly at the spot she had landed. ?They did not.?

Leigh examined the young man closer, now that his light had lowered, and grinned a wide, toothy grin. ?Will you not tell me your name stranger? It?s impolite to keep a girl waiting you know.?

Attack me? No, I don't think so.

There were two ways she could go: Forward, hoping to get within striking distance before he could reach his now-certainly dangerous device, or backward in an attempt to get away, and at least deny him his prize. The fact that she wasn't well-versed in swimming quickly stamped down that idea.

She stepped forward, still holding her sword at his chest, sideways so he could see the glowing bits of the blade. She wasn't sure if she could get him before he got his weapon, but she would at least try.

Saoshyan, Above the Canopy of a large tree, New York City, night, modern(?) times
Saoshyan's head pounded. Not an easy spell, by any means. Many wizards had found themselves mentally crippled after only attempting it.
"Ahura Mazda is with me this day." Sao said, sighing in relief. "I am Saoshyan, magi of Zoroaster. You are? And, if you can tell me, where is it that I have come to? I fear I do not know."
Sao looked around again. The place was a mess. The trees grew up and around and through everything, and the buildings were ugly gray things. Somewhere off in the distance, a great din was arising. He didn't recognize any of the sounds. All alien and metallic and strange.
The druj is strong in this place. It is in need of a savior. Ahura, I pray I have the strength to aid this strange place.

Pryderi, Tower of London at Night, Modern(?) Times

The sound of bells caused a clamour while men in strange uniforms rushed out, spraying an even stranger white foam over the alight crows as Pryderi nibbled a bit of a cooked wing, spitting out feathers with a simple thought. Ych a fi! Then yet another nosy sound blasted through Pryderi's ears - a type of fire that smelt funny, not like wood or coal fire. Pryderi wondered how these humans had gotten hold of such mastery of fire, when that clearly belonged to the mighty dragons. He also wondered why these people were protecting these ravens, maybe their crafty ways had taught them how to harness fire?

Either way, Pryderi continued to sprout flame and took wing, using agile manoeuvres to run rings around the strange men and their precious birds. He would show them how to use fire, as a proud dragon, it was his only option. Then he realised that in the rage brought on by injured pride, he had forgotten about Aery. Usually she would scold him with a well-placed frost spell on the schonz when he did things like this, which was mildy annoying to say the least. Not only did it dose the fire but it brought on a bout of brain-freeze as well. Still, it made the point and Pryderi would stop, at least for a while.

He decided that toying with these people had got boring and turned to fly over the gate, but not before performing an extra toasty fly-by. Simpletons suitable singed, he begin looking for some food to eat. Maybe there was a good fishing lake nearby? As if being dumped in an alien landscape was weird enough, he was also strangely hungry to say the least. Pryderi was sure he had ate at least an hour before the incident. Stumped, he shrugged it off and walked on.

Dark green was the truck, and the people driving it were in fatigues of the army. One wearing a cap as the driver, the passenger had a helmet and rifle clearly in hand. Mouths moving but unable to hear them, behind and ahead of the car were more trucks and jeeps, clearly a convoy of sorts.

Taking a puff of the foul smelling pipe,
"God all this ruddy improvising." Shouldering his gun, he looked Saoshyan over.
"So, which company did you come from? I personally need to speak too mine about this Holo-Set, I mean, the city is glitch they need to hurry up and fix."

Pryderi, Tower of London at Night, Modern(?) Times
Alien smells grew stronger along with new sounds, the screaming, shouting, and frantic struggles of the Tower all but fading. Sounds of a tavern/pub/place to get sozzled/ drifted in the air with the oh to fragrant smell of spirits, a nearby stand let forth a greasy and alluring smell of battered and fried fish and chips, one being served to a man in the late evening.

Next to all this and quite nearby was the River Thames, a bird or two floating on the water peacefully or active in the light above. Along with others nesting or hidden near it, life gently flowed on for them. Below the currents held any number of fish, some resting on the river bed, others moving on in from life and perhaps death, along with an eel or two as well.

Nearby hidden from prying eyes and trying damn well hard not to be seen, a Hunter began to Track Pryderi. Shrouded in shadows, cloaked in night, masked in darkness, he ran through similar phrases in his head smiling at his new prey.

Saoshyan, Above the Canopy of a large tree, New York City, night, modern(?) times
Several of the words didn't translate, and Saoshyan had no idea what the man was saying in general.
"Er.. I am afraid I do not understand. Company? Holo-set?" He tried the foreign words. They were awkward and heavy on his tongue. He figured that the words must not have translations to his language. He sighed.
"Bhangu Bhangu? I do not know of this place. It is... Not like my home. Much wetter. I came here from... The past? The future? I do not know. I should have decided on a location before performing the rite." Saoshyan mused idly, looking around the tree.
"Shall we climb down?"

"Shit!" (Shit!)

He missed. That was lucky, but she didn't want to test her luck further. Michi reached out with her mind to pull the gun-thing from his hand and into her own.

(Shamese: Don't do anything like that again or I'll cut you to pieces!) she yelled. She knew he wouldn't understand the words, but since her sword was still leveled at him and now within stabbing distance, coupled with her intense tone, she figured he would get the idea.

Aeronwen, In a Mall At Night, Modern(?) Times

Her distressed calls lent her only strange looks and deaf ears, no one offered her help with her search, did they not know who she was? Did they not understand the urgency of the situation? Disheartened she sighed as she tried to asses the situation. Light flowed from the ceiling, but she could she no candles, nor could she sense any sorcery about it. Many people where here but dressed as monsters and creatures of the night, some where masks, others wore paint on their faces; did they want to keep their identity secret? Had she stumbled onto a secret gathering of sorcerers?

Someone wearing a mask resembling a humourless smile approached her, this was the perfect opportunity for her questions to be answered. A group of men followed him, if he was a sorcerer then he must be a powerful one, to have so many apprentices.

"Well hello there lovely, get lost to a party, or care to find one?" Voice full of confidence, and physique well toned.

He spoke words, but she didn't understand the language. It wasn't welsh and it didn't sound like the Anglisc the border people of Mercia spoke. Since she didn't recognise it, she decided that the rift must have taken her far away from her homeland, where was she then? Maybe if she used the spell that Mabinogi had taught her, it would translate Anglisc, but she wasn't certain it would translate this strange tongue.

She held her staff between her hands to help concentrate her power, as she cast the spell, the markings on her head and eyes glowed with light, so did the stone on the top of her staff. The spell complete she felt drained, she wouldn't be able to keep it up for long, but it should be long enough to get her answers.

"Are you a sorcerer?" She asked smiling. "And could you repeat what you said before?"

"Amazing! Magic? Telekinesis?" (Could you read my mind? Hmm...)

Yes, I can, she thought to herself. A bit, anyway. But you don't need to know that.

Deciding she'd had enough of this, she started side-stepping around the thing that tried to attack her, keeping her sword pointed at him, until she was halfway around him. Then she quickly turned and sprinted toward the mainland, sheathing her sword when she was far enough away. She made a point of holding onto the gun-device. She didn't figure asking this thing what was going on would do any good, since neither could understand the other, except in one way, and she hadn't learned how to project thoughts yet.

She started running toward the big, glowing orange bridge. She needed to climb something big. Climbing helped her calm down for some reason, and despite all outward appearances, she was ready to scream.

Saoshyan, Climbing down a large tree, New York City, night, modern(?) times
With a combination of slipping, sliding and a small amount of climbing, they somehow made it to the lower branches of the tree, and stopped to catch their breath.
Saoshyan turned to say something, and felt the magic trickling away. He lifted a hand, and made a strange pulling motion.
"We do not have much time. I will not understand you after just a moment, and I still don't know where we are. We may need to resort to hand gestures, if need be. Otherwise, we won't be able to speak." Saoshyan said regretfully.
The man said something in response, but he had released the spell and the languages were seperated once again.
(Avestan- I do not understand you, friend. My apologies.)
He gestured towards the ground, and continued the climb down.
