FG players online? The worst mongoloid shit stains in the world. Only LoL and DOTA are worse for decent person to rage monster ratio.

Real life? Nicest people alive. I play at live tournaments a lot, usually with 20-25 people stuffed inside an apartment with six or seven setups. Everyone being supportive, helping newer players improve and being great people.

As someone who is into the FGC, I really do hate that when they do get publicity, it's only in a bad light thanks to those recent events.
Still, it can be a good community if you can get into it, just a hard of the "Old guard" were raised in the days were fighting games were exclusive to arcades so there was a real "Git Gud" mentality, seeing how you had to pay to play.

That and I do suggest that if people want to get to know some other FGC personalities to check out Miles923 on YouTube, who's famous for making tutorials, making fighting game vids and being a remember of the Killer Instinct Development team.

Aye, once again, another reason why we need to stamp out "Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory", not only for fighting games but for gaming in general.
Seriously, some of the stuff I've seen at even Smash Bros. events is hype as shit and I don't want it to be ruined by a perception that all FGC players go around spamming rage-mail at everyone :/

I'm not trying to be aggressive, but did you read the whole thing? At least check out the conclusion. I'd argue it paints the FGC in a very positive way.

Oh, don't worry, I did, great piece by the way :p

I was just agreeing with the fact that Cross Assault was a fucking mess and, because a large amount of FGC coverage is often done only on specialist websites for the FGC like SRK or EventHubs, it's only when something bad like this happens does it really enter the mainstream side of gaming news (Outside of the usual hype for new releases and reviews anyway)

Hell, I'll be honest, I had zero idea I'd be reading an FGC article on the Escapist when I woke up today, Thanks for that by the way :)

As someone who is into that scene, I do agree that there is a lot of awesome welcoming people in it, I'm just still mad salty about how Aris shitty behavior helped nearly kill the Namco version of SFxT.
While Capcom did most of the damage, him being a shithead live in front of thousands as a "Iconic Memeber of the FGC" most likely didn't help.

Read this just because Ben Moore wrote it. I didn't know you were writing for the Escapist. I wonder if it would have been different after playing some Pokken. :p

And that's even if they could decide if you could play.
