After the disapointment and general overall "choreiness", not to mention downright not fun gameplay, of GTA 4 & 5 SR4 grabbed me by the nuts and ran as far and as fast as it could with me. Never finished it because of bugs, but I didn't care - the 20 odd hours I had playing it were just a total and utter blast. A classic.hermes200 said:I have been replaying Saints Rows 4.
Great game. As errant signal puts it, it is "a love letter to everything that is kitsch". Not cynically or sarcastically, not so-bad-is-good, but an honest to god love letter to everything that is tacky and lowbrow, yet oddly endearing.
I don't want to turn this into a "bash GTA" thread, which goes against the idea of the OP, but I can't say enough about the earnestness of Saints Rows over other open world games.
I mean, they made a Christmas special DLC, and they owned it. There was nothing of cynical commentaries about America's consumerism or trivialization of a holy day that one would expect from other writers; instead they make a Grinch reference and snow angels, with a smile on their faces.
I have to say that as much fun as I've had with SR4 I very much prefer SR3. I think its because that with the powers the entire game becomes somewhat trivial.
Thinking of buying the fault milestone one visual novel on steam whilst its reduced. Its got pretty good reviews.
