The Walking Dead Heads Humble Weekly Sale

The latest Humble Weekly Sale offers seven different Telltale games in their entirety, including the hit zombie series The Walking Dead.

We made some noise [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/124259-Alan-Wake-Gets-the-Humble-Bundle-Treatment] about last week's Humble Weekly Sale offering of Alan Wake because it seemed like a pretty good deal: Everything Alan Wake, including a bunch of unreleased stuff, pay-what-you-want package. And hey, it was a good deal, but this week's Telltale Games collection might be even better.

For whatever price you want to pay, you get Back to the Future, Sam & Max: Devil's Playhouse, Poker Night at the Inventory, Hector: Badge of Carnage, Puzzle Agent 1 and 2 and Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures. And not just one episode of each; the bundle includes all five episodes of Back to the Future and Sam & Max, four episodes of Wallace & Gromit and three episodes of Hector. That's a lot of games - but that's not all! If you pay more than the average, which is currently well under four bucks, you can add the entire first season of The Walking Dead to the package too.

All games are available in both Steam and DRM-free editions except The Walking Dead, which is Steam only, and payments may be divided between the developers, Child's Play and EFF and the Humble Bundle guys as you see fit. All the usual stuff, in other words. Sooner or later we're going to stop talking about these Humble sales - they happen every week, after all, and you can sign up for their mailing list if you have trouble remembering - but this one was way too good to let pass without a mention.

you know ive been hesitant to buy episodic games, due to the inevitable cliff hanger ending of most of the episodes.

Being able to go back to the future makes me giddy with delight.

Now wheres my cheese.

Shameless plug: I'll be mentioning every bundle I can find, including the Humble ones, in the Unofficial Friendly Steam Trading Thread [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.408230-The-Unofficial-Friendly-Steam-Trading-Thread?page=1]. I only mention this because Andy mentioned not covering them in the news feed anymore. Feel free to pop in if you have some games to let go of or TF2 items to trade! Some people are getting into the trading card thing as well.

On another note, I knew I was waiting to jump on The Walking Dead, this is a really great deal. I'm sure once I've played them all and Season 2 comes out, I'll be far less patient, however.

Got it. Walking Dead was on my list for a long time so $4 was more than worth it.

It's not really an "anymore" thing, it's just impossible to cover them all without turning a large part of the news into a virtual classified section for videogame deals. I'll still point and yell at the irresistible deals - and this one would qualify under any circumstances - I just don't want you guys to think we're turning it into a weekly "thing."

That said, I think forum threads for this kind of stuff are a great idea, and if you're a member of the Escapist PC Gamers group (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Escapist-PC-Gamers [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Escapist-PC-Gamers]) you're more than welcome to post notices of good bundles there too.

From the episodic TellTale games I've played thus far (The Sam & Max ones) each episode has it's own story mostly independant from the others just with a vein of references running through them and teasers at the end of each episode for the next one. Plus if you buy the bundle you get all of the episodes at once so you can just keep playing!

I wasn't that interested in the non-Sam & Max titles but I think I'll pick them up from the bundle anyway, might as well support charity and a decent developer at the same time.

Well, darn. This bundle has almost every telltale game, but not the one I actually want -- Jurassic Park: The Game. It don't care if it's not great, I'm a huge friggin' JP fan, which means that game was made specifically for me. I'd go for it for Poker Night, except I've already got that from the current regular HIB.

Edit: I remembered shortly after writing the above that my copy of Poker Night actually came from a friend, I just didn't get a chance to play it until I started checking out my swag from the new indie bundle. It's the best computerized poker game I've ever played, and that's selling it short.

Haha! I just paid £21 for The Walking Dead a week ago! I feel justified in only paying 3 bucks for this one now :p

Finished it a couple of days ago, and buy do they nail it. An excellent choose-your-own adventure book in electronic form!

Looking forward to playing the other titles!

And note that one of Steam's sales this weekend is "hey, look, we can offer Alan Wake cheaply too!"

That makes sense, and I probably shouldn't have spoken on your behalf so authoritatively. Getting The Walking Dead for 4 bucks qualifies as news no matter how you cut it.

Gah, I just bought all of the Walking Dead episodes a couple weeks ago...
Totally worth it, BTW, but some of that money could've gone to charity (and other games!)

Nah, it's cool. Deals like this should be shared, but there are so many ridiculously good bundles and sales being offered these days, I could spend a pretty big chunk of my time just saying HOLY CRAP LOOKIT THESE DEALS! And I think that would make my boss a little uptight.

I'm somewhat confused by what games area actually included. I got 5 Sam&Max games - episodes 301 to 305, while I also have the free episode 104... So only 3rd serie of S&M is included?
The Devil's Playhouse is the third series of Sam and Max, so yes.

I heard about this from my buddy and I could not believe my luck. Of all those titles the only one I own is poker night at the inventory which I got for free with a code from a swag bag. With the exception of Bone and Jurassic Park I already owned all the other Telltale titles. This bundle is PERFECT for me. So I will get on board this bus and be happy about it.
